I’m actually astonished at anyone putting a 3 at the back as though changing our entire system is going to improve things when most of our issues are through ditching too much of what made us Premier League Chsmpions League & World club champions

More often than not especially against most teams at Anfield the opposition put 10 men behind the ball and we always seem to be playing with 3 at the back and sometimes only 1 and that's our keeper 40 yards out of goal !!
Kinda confident.... but also due to recent performances..... kinda dreading it.
Any fuck up now it's over.

Incredible insight Captain Obvious
You're entitled to feel that way. He certainly didn't cover himself in glory against Atalanta, but then, who did? Besides, to be fair to Tsimikas, he seems to be one of the only players expected to be chucked in after a spell of minimal minutes and meant to simply pick up where he left off.
Anyway, if we include the upcoming trip to the Bergamo, we will have 4 away games on the spin. I don't particularly want Robbo starting 5 games in a row, so that leaves a minor selection headache of sorts. I'd rather use Tsimikas (for the first half anyway) when we're at Home and should hopefully play a bit better, than chuck him in for an away fixture - then somewhere in that 4-game run where Robbo will likely play he'll get a 60-minute match rather than a 90-minute one and we won't want to drop a "cold" Tsimikas in for that.
Some may feel it's better to use Tsimikas against Atalanta as they'll feel that fixture is "gone" (understandable) but I'm of the mindset of trying to mentally split that second leg into two 45-minute matches and seeing if we can be 1-0 up at half-time. If we are, take the shackles off for the second half and have a go. Probably about a 5% chance of prevailing in that tie, but I can never resist the possibility (however small) of an inspired Liverpool comeback despite having low expectations of that fixture.
Unlikely to matter anyway as I will be very surprised if Klopp picks Tsimikas for this one and as ever I will likely have over-thought it.
Just play the best available 11 & get this game won
THEN Think about Atalanta
