He’s good there often better than Endo as he’s consistently positionally better, made a bad error tonight, but whoever’s at No6 if there’s zero meaningful pressing & counter pressing g from your LCM & RCM & forwards you’re pissing in the wind

Not like everyone’s got a strong press & either Mac or Endo is blindly charging off their man like a deranged destroyer letting an otherwise strong press be broken

Still we’re linked with Varela & a few other No6’s we need one as Endo has games on it, half on it, with lapses Mac & Endo do help each other out though

So many players dropped off a cliff after injury, Jones & Sloppy especially Jones was flying until his knock v Brentford & has come back playing like he did 2 seasons back when he thought he was the shit but wasn’t

We’ve tried that numerous times under Klopp we’re shit at it we have to press

One thing Rangnacock was right about “You can’t do a bit of pressing” if you’re a pressing and counter pressing side you’re always defending while attacking & attacking while defending you can’t stop doing it & try & drop off & sit back

when we are leading. theres no reason we cant bring on a coupla defensive midfielders and drop our forwards back in. and make our last 40/50 yards of the pitch compact.

You gotta be kidding? why allow a team space to break through the midfield? just press the runners with numbers and slow the play..

We could but we’d still need to press in our deeper positions & we won plenty of games under Jurgen by setting our press in different areas, after recent games it seems the only 3 mids we have we can rely on to press somewhere like properly are Endo Mac & One swallow

No longer having wow forwards pushed up on the shoulder at LFWD & RFWD makes a huge difference to our ability to set the press in different areas & for it to be effective

You do understand & accept that pressing & counter pressing is something we’ve done in several different modes & ways don’t you?

You seem to be writing as though there’s only one way it is done

We were awful at it tonight, if you press and counter press properly teams can’t play through you like that because players are picked up & not free to receive the ball in time & space

We eventually & belatedly played a lot of games in 20-21 dropping our line 15 yards leaving 2 up with Bobby dropping in & looked to win it in the middle of the pitch rather than high to then try to release Mane or Mo

The 4 subs proved it was a dead rubber. Role on Sunday.

For sure wish we hadn’t done that as finishing above City in the VAR table would have at least proved something of a moral point

Everyone knows we’re 7 points shy of what we should have & the other two have an extra point they shouldn’t - Most actually think nothing of it, it’s Liverpool it’s expected & become normalised that we’re given blatant wrong uns

As we were for almost 3 decades before VAR & look how fans of every other team complained when VAR was used properly for the first two thirds of 19-20 & about 5 plain wrong initial decisions ruling out perfectly good goals were correctly overturned “LiVARpool” complaining in essence that wrong uns given against us were being correctly overturned, as that can’t be right, Anyonr but Liverpool are supposed to be given wrong uns

Macca has the highest number of “dribbled past” (66) in the squad this year. He is workable as a dm but it’s not where he should be.

Its not easy covering all that ground in midfield. especially now when teams are allowed 5 subs. the midfield is over run at the end of games. the subs don't work if you keep your midfield the same.
