Because it was my worst nightmare Ian and everything I have been warning about since our attempts to go tappy crappy started last season - They were better than us through being better in their press and counter press and being better at being direct - They were sadly an excellent imitation of what we were brilliant at in 18-20 we were a very poor imitation of how they liked to play in the same period - Seeing something coming for nearly fully 2 seasons and then witnessing it as I did in that game yesterday, tha's really fucking painful

This style or way of changing style has led us getting this far. Jürgen is the man in the dugout. We can watch games from the stand or on TV but the game belongs at ground level. That is where it happens. Some managers have tried the more remote approach and copious video studies but the best managers see fit to remain in the dugout There is a reason for that and that only they understand.

It will always be tough against the quality they have. If our midfield can be perfect we can do it. Very hard if not.

Hendo wasn't playing 10, he was playing a specific job of stopping City's triangles which are the base for their passing game

He played a central attacking midfielder role behind our striker. With 2 wingers and a double pivot behind him.

That's a 10. A role which in the modern game requires a great work rate, real football ability and a capacity to operate in tight spaces.

Hendo has a great work rate but he's not enough of a footballer to play 10.

Not the first time this season he's been foisted into the role. Not the first time it's killed us in games.
