View Full Version : How bad are Everton?

Insidious
5th October 2019, 09:49 PM
Genuinely - are there three worse sides in the League right now?

5 losses in their last 6 League games. Just the 1 point above the relegation zone.

West Ham, Brighton and Tottenham their next 3 League games.

Could it happen? Would you want it to?

they are garbage, I would love to see em go down. But sadly there are worse teams in the league.Watford and Norwich are 2 teams I think will go by the wayside this time around

Insidious

Send them down.

Would you want them down for one season, for the sheer hilarity, with a view to them coming back up (and being relatively weak) so you have the pleasure of two opportunities per season of beating them?

Or would you want them GONE a la Stoke or Sunderland?

I've always felt I'd want them to go down and come back up, whereas in a perfect World where United could go down I'd want them to never return.

Send them Coventry literally!

Upper end of League One at least.

Bolton are bottom!

Swindon are upper part of League Two - Oldham Athletic lower part of League Two.

It's mad looking back - look at some of the sides in the 93/94 season - "only" 25 years ago.

Blackburn Rovers - 2nd.
Leeds United - 5th.
Wimbledon - 6th.
Sheffield Wednesday - 7th.
QPR - 9th.
Coventry - 11th.
Ipswich Town - 19th.
Sheffield United - 20th.
Oldham Athletic - 21st.
Swindon Town - 22nd.

A few of those sides could very well be in the Conference within the next 5 years.

I’ve always said I wouldn’t want them to go down. I’ve got evertonians throughout my family and work/socialise with others. That said they are proper shite and the entertainment value would be epic. Personally, I think they’ll survive. I can see Moyes coming in before the end of the month.

I genuinely don't think they are as bad as they seem.
They'll raise their game against us, obviously.

Fuck em, couldn’t care less if they got relegated and never came back up.

Work colleague came in singing ‘you lost the title at goodison’ after city won the title.

That sums up their mentality.

It's great.

Hope the likes of Arsenal, Leicester, Palace and West Ham can find some consistency - I'd even (begrudgingly) see Chelsea doing okay if it kept both Spurs and United out of the Top Four positions for a season - though in a perfect World we'd see all three (Chelsea/Spurs/United) miss out and the League be shaken up a bit whilst we continue to do well.

If they keep it going Chelsea are going to be a threat in the next couple of seasons, they have the makings of a very decent team there

Everton will stay up I reckon

I'd be more than happy to see Everton go down, they are one of those sides that can be absolute dogshit for weeks on end, but you know that once they are on the same pitch as us they will be kicking lumps out of anything in red that moves.

A relegation for Everton would ease the workload on our medical team no end.

Given that it will only take 3 teams to be worse than them, I agree. But they do need to get themselves together in the next 3-5 seasons or a fliration as fiordearg puts it looks on the cards.

Just have a lot of mates who are blue. And i just like the city of Liverpool to be seen as successful.

I guess it's because you are from Liverpool.
As an "outsider" - I don't particularly like Everton or the behaviour of their fans. I've been to a fair few Derby games and for people who are from the City, they can be horrible bastards. Not directed at your mates but Goodison on Derby day seems to be getting worse and worse.

The derby games used to be alright, as everyone famously knows, the friendly derby and all that. I think under the short stewardship of Mark Hughes the atmosphere on the pitch (dogs of war and stuff) started to turn and that infected the crowd. Under Moyes it became really toxic, ushered in a whole series of red card games, the most in any prem fixture i believe. I think that was when i first heard of them being called the bitters. (although it might have been the 80s europa ban).
I think nowadays it seems quite bad, but not as bad tempered, if you see what i mean. i think the Everton fans are a bit in shock at how we have humiliated them for the last ten years. huge inferiority complex, which they seem unable to shake off.

To be honest I think the bad press after the Pickford horror show on big Virg affected them big time. But as much as it hurt them it brought huge long term grief for us. We have coped well so far BUT have some huge tests ahead.
