Welbeck puts Brighton ahead against Villa. One minute Brighton look like they could score against anyone, the next they look toothless. It's hard enough at the best of times trying to predict what is going to happen.

Ah well. At least I got the Chelsea scoreline spot on.

Villa should equalise, but somehow they cannot put the ball in the back of the net after having a number of shots at goal around the penalty spot.

Targett puts a bit of a naughty elbow into the face of a Brighton player and could have easily been given a red by a different referee instead of the yellow he actually received.

HT Aston Villa 0-1 Brighton

A very good game. How there hasn't been at least a couple more goals is anyone's guess. One of the best halves of football of the season so far.

Grealish tries a backheel in his own box and is fortunate not to end up costing his team a goal.

Calm yerself down son!

RedNoodle
21st November 2020, 05:53 PM
The end of the game has become very tetchy. Moments after Grealish is booked after hauling up a Brighton player who makes out he was hit in the face, Lamptey receives a second yellow (some may say it was a tad harsh) and it sent off.

Villa win look to have won a penalty in added on time. Again it looks a tad harsh. However Oliver goes to the monitor and overturns the original decision.

So basically the VAR gave man-united the 3 points against west-brom?. sounds about right

The closer they are to 4th, the longer Ole is in the job.

The perfect scenario is them getting quite far in Europe (quarter-final, semi-final) and they miss out on 4th by like 1-3 points. The board look at how "well" the European campaign went and decide to remain faithful.

That way for the 21/22 season they still have Ole (as opposed to someone better) and aren't in the Champion's League. Sure, they'll "clean House" some more and shift another bit of dead-wood or two, but the progress they reeeeeally need won't happen and the delay of one more season benefits everyone else around them.

Sod it, they're embarrassing at this stage.

Everton surely likely to win today.

Arsenal probably need a win against Leeds - 4 wins, 4 losses - if they were to lose or draw today their fans will likely be panicking once more about the prospect of missing out on Champion's League football AGAIN.

Wonderful League so far this season if you're a neutral or one of the sides that is nearer to the top than normal.

Amazingly we'll be joint top if we win today, or just 3 points off the pace should we lose. Considering the farce that was the Everton game and the injuries, we're doing really well - City's inconsistency helps as well and although Spurs have started well, we have seen them fold in the latter stages of a League season before.

I just hope we aren't the team (over the course of the season) with the worst injury record, as our hard work merits better luck. Maybe it will balance out (other side's getting bad runs with injuries too) but one naturally wouldn't wish injuries upon individual players.....well, maybe a couple of the Everton thugs

We all said it after the Goodison fiasco , He's fucking useless . He has a serious problem looking at TV screens plus he over ruled his own decision yesterday, the one were he was 5 yards away from the coming together with no one in front of him.
If that's the standard of the referees coming through we my just scrap them altogether. Nd another thing ,What's the point in linesmen (assistant referees) What's there job now?

Nailed on penalty for Man Utd, their defender moved his arm, easy decision for me. WBA should have had one too.

Sheffield United just cannot buy a goal for love nor money, meaning that all the opposition needs is one scrappy goal, and it's "goodnight Vienna".

Why did they pay so much for Brewster and stick him on the bench ?

I dunno. I'm sure I read something a bit earlier where someone mentioned about him being injured.

We seem to have got pretty good in recent seasons at getting good money for players who spectacularly fail to kick on.

Sheffield united were very good for most of last season. they played at a high tempo and pressed well. Since the lock down they appear to been let down like a tyre. Just very deflated not a good combination in the Premier league. You really need to show authority at times or you will be mullered. Maybe they will find a second gear. But looking at the table. Right now they are certs to go down with West-Brom

Maybe players just seem like they are better players playing for Klopp.?

I have suggested such for a while now.

I have no doubt Brewster is a neat little finisher. The issue is in teams like Sheff-United you don't get much of the ball n the oppositions box..The space in on the counter..I just cant see Brewster being able to run from centre of the pitch and cause the opponents back line an issue. You can see that with Mane/Jota and Salah.
He needs to learn to be able to keep the ball longer so team mates can break off him.

Think he did pretty well playing at Swansea, which is what a lot of potential suitors might have looked at, but that is a level down of course.
