Klopp said he had a chat with him after that nightmare game he had when he was subbed at the half after giving away the penalty, and since then he's been really solid in the three games since (including the Champion's League game against Ajax in the midweek).

I think he still has promise and potential to come good.
He just needs to stop over-complicating it sometimes, keep it simple and play within the system.
Which he's done fairly well in recent times.

Matip is a fantastic defender.

After Virgil he is our best defender by a mile, ahead of the sharp end of last season's Champions League Jurgen made 2 absolutely horrendous errors, not getting Matip back in with minutes and bringing Fab back into a midfield and team that had been playing far better without him

I am a fan of VAR. It is the officials that are a problem. They were the problem before and now they making a balls up of the concept of VAR.

Rhos line drawing rubbish must go. If a official watched it in slow mo and don't see office then it is not. Same like in rugby with a forward pass. You don't see line and line drawn just a couple to check a and if it is not clear then benefit to the attacking side.

I have seen decisions given to United by officials that have swung matches and seasons and I rather not have that. Remember a 1-1 where Valencia crosses from a offside position against us. Clear even before replay and official missed it. So when I think of those kind of decisions then VAR.

It is a implementation issue with VAR, not VAR being a problem.

My understanding is that the club are ok with him leaving. I think they don't want to boost his wages, he understands that and therefore is looking to leave on amicable terms. Barcelona seem keen, so why not?
