First up Everton v Newcastle.
Newcastle won the return fixture in November, highly unlikely they’ll get anything today.

Wonder if this will be the game to get bruce sacked?

then again Ashley probably loves someone else taking the hate

Given the bottom 3 are so shit Newcastle are likely to stay up despite their own shittiness. If so it would be job done as far as Ashley is concerned with very little money spent again

Didn't they spend more than us , Net spend at least??

should be doing better with that squad

over the last few years they've spent more than us that's for sure not hard when we spent £9.36m last year and made 37m but this year we spent 71m made 38 nearly balances out

6 of City's bench for this game -

Mendy - £52m

Aye. Would be lightening striking twice in a week mind.
Only chance is that City get bored and think it’s won, get sloppy and Sheff Utd get a set piece or penalty. They really look terrible at both ends today, the transfer in of Brewster for £26m looks more and more weird with every passing game.

F-me!!! I see Man City won by scoring yet another of their snoozefest goals i.e. out wide for someone to get to the byline whereby they play a low ball across the box, which a player then taps in from just in front of the goal.

They are going to win the league scoring that same goal over and over and over again, yet the media will continue to cream themselves over them and the likes of KDB and $t£rling in particular, and will make out they play beautiful football.

Hence "if" :) As in "if" we can conjure up a result tomorrow.

Let's hope we can, as it would be great for us.

Heart says late push League win, head says I'd take 2nd-4th and a quarter-final or further in the Champion's League.

See how it all pans out. Think once we play that first Leipzig match the season is going to absolutely fly in so hopefully there are some fun moments along the way as the first half of the season largely felt like like wading through water rather than sprinting. I just hope Jota returns in good nick and 2/3 of the front three can be in reasonable form simultaneously as I'd back us to outscore opposition more often than not in those circumstances.

Kev0909
30th January 2021, 11:48 PM
predicted a draw but I think we'll win, luckily we have enough upfront for teams to be scared to attack us much, or very nervous too, so the CB's dont get got at as much as other teams.

any brave team that actually goes for it, we'd see a very high scoring game i'd imagine

Bit like the old barca in a way, but they just dominated the ball, there's a reason wee mascherano ended up playing CB for them

Particularly true if (if!) we manage a win tomorrow.

As nerve-wracking as it would be for us for a brief spell, I'm hoping Leicester and maybe Everton or Tottenham can get a result or two soon, whilst United are looking nervously behind them. They can definitely be "dragged down" as it were into a scrap for Top Four very quickly - and possibly even miss out on the Champion's League - if only a couple of little points-swings fall the right way while they try to juggle the Europa League.

Knowing their luck though they're perfectly capable of getting 3rd and Europa. The margins always seem so fine with their lot - 66 points two seasons in a row got them totally different League positions.

Im not looking at United at all its small time my only concern is we get top 4 that is ALL that matters.

City are going to romp it as I have said all season.

Who cares if they do they are a nothing club and its an asterisk anyway.

Football without fans is shit and shouldnt be played.

I'm obsessed with hunting down whoever is in second spot and at the minute that's the red Mancs. I suspect by 4pm tomorrow it will be Leicester as they should beat Leeds - and so on.

Obviously if we manage to get points as required and get close then gaining on top spot would be huge, but given City have 6(?) in a row at the moment when we have won our first game in 5 or 6 matches they're sadly just not the main target right now, though I obviously have everything crossed that can change.

Opening half hour at Stamford Bridge, Burnley look decent and progressive though struggling to create real chances. Chelsea nervous and disjointed with just a couple of pass backs to Pope. One comedy moment from Werner when presented with a shooting chance in the box, he hit it against his standing leg and it went behind him.

To be fair to them they were much more of a threat at Anfield.

Brighton really taking it to the Spuds.
Not sitting on their laurels after taking a 1-0 lead; meanwhile Spurs really confirming the perception that they are indeed a one man team and when that man is out injured, they seem to struggle for ideas up front.

It's going to be a mighty rough next couple of weeks for them with Kane out injured and their upcoming fixture list.

Bale's good aint he? great signing even on loan for them.

If spurs had someone like rodgers, or a manager who knows good football, they might be dangerous, and if they spent money on said players instead of a washed up injury prone player in Bale for nostalgia reasons. (ok it's only wages or whatever but it's still setting them back a good amount)

he doesn't even give Alli a chance, he's wasting his career there, it's like anyone apart from Son and kane who can play football gets binned off

Long may it continue hate spurs due to the manager and football they play, it's horrible to watch and so negative and pathetic, I feel for the fans.

Watched Attenborough and am only now seeing the Spurs score.

So even if they won their game in hand, we have a 4-point cushion to keep us in the Champion's League spots a while longer.

Good stuff given the picture some were envisaging just a couple of weeks ago. Grow that gap and we're laughing. Hopefully we can manage a complication-free win at Brighton to keep the fanbase nice and chilled.

It's amazing what a couple of capitalisations of opportunities can do when those around us drop points. Just two rounds of fixtures ago we were 6 points off 2nd spot - now we have it down to a solitary point.

So pleased.

50 goals in 160 Premier League appearances and age-wise has plenty of time on his side.

I know he hasn't been at the peak of his powers over the last couple of years, but under the right Manager there's a serious addition to a team's attacking output just waiting to be utilised there.

Where to go though?

Absolutely - Spurs having to go through yet another transitional phase would be great - as much as Liverpool FC keeping itself in order is what matters, when I think of the long-term Dynasty-build and opponents attempting to gain on us, I love seeing clubs either not getting Top Four regularly (Arsenal) or flitting in and out (United, Chelsea) - if I could pick two sides I'd (realistically) like to see miss out on the top spots, Spurs and Man United would probably too the list.

Not impossible that those two draw each other in the Europa at some stage and kick lumps out of each other.
