How many games is he allowed to get away with not scoring?? hes played has the main strike for a very long time.
His ratio games to goals in the last year and half is deplorably bad. How many biggest clubs on earth would have him has a number nine?
Sure he helps out in games in the midfiled. But a lot of the time his position dropping off from the centre backs leaves us empty at the top of the pitch..

Should consider a true number 9, drop Firmino back to midfield as he can create chances more than he scores. He can be our Coutinho like player, or just use him as an impact sub?

I do wonder if, when Jota is fit, looking at a front four sort of set-up, with Firmino deepest, might get a little more out of his skillset.

He certainly wasn't alone tonight in being underwhelming.

He'll provide an assist in 5 games time and score in 8 games time, then you'll all be eating your words

Again, take your pick...

Mo couldn't trap a wet bag of cement. Makes his goal on Sunday even more ridiculous.

We need Jota back and also a proper number 9 next season.

I mean as much as he is a c**t Diego Costa would have helped for 6 months.

Firmino is a good player but he shouldnt be a automatic choice.

To show how inconsistent he is! Maybe so nineteen can eventually realise he's actually wrong about his favourite number 9

Maybe Jurgen needs to stop changing the dynamic? We are ALWAYS, ALWAYS shite and struggle to score whenever he plays someone at LFWD who drops off short all the fucking time and continually lays it off backwards leaving the only ball on for the player who receives it into Bobby when he is already crowded out as soon as that ball goes backwards or to play it square or backwards

It's fucking garbage, absolute fucking garbage and it has been every single fucking time he's played a player at LFWD who has done that, Origi, Shaq tonight, Jota, it just fucks us up, the only player we have who has facilitated our normal movement and the team operating as it does with Mane, Bobby and Mo the ONLY player to do that has been the much maligned Ox

Goals are one issue, his effort first half earns him a spot on the bench for city.

Again how long is it OK for our main striker not allowed to score goals? How many more games is he allowed not to?
Again how many top clubs in the world would allow their main forward to get away with so little end product???
hes scored 3/4 league goals in 25 matches.. Its pathetic.

He was a huge part in our success in his game play. Something has changed big time and it5not just his fault.

It’s what he does with the ball when he’s got it. Very, very talented footballer, unfortunately he’s peaked and no longer consistent enough at the top level and needs replacing.

It is fault.. Hes neither a number 9 or number 10.. hes an half an half player that scores fk all. Hes not worthy of a starting place any more..We want to regain the league?.. When you have a forward that doesnt even score goals. how you suppose to win?

A proper striker wins you games, or even in the teams current form, scores out of nowhere to get a result

only player to do that is salah, when he's not to busy diving

I've generally never seen someone hit the ball so uncleanly the amount of times he does

Amazing to think it's the front 3 that seems to be the biggest problem. It goals that win games and theyre just not producing.

And it's times likes these when you look to other players to find the net, and we have no-one. Said for ages if Salah and Mane stopped scoring, we are in trouble and that's what's happening now.

I actually think recently he’s been the best of the 3 in work rate and has produced some good play. He’s been woefully out of touch in front of goal though for ages. We’ve no goals in midfield and mane has stopped scoring too. Combined with the leaky defence it’s not hard to see why we’ve declined so dramatically. Question is what do we do about it.

Jota has been a huge loss, he was flying before the injury.

Amidst the highlighting of Firmino's lack of goals, the dry spell for Mane has been somewhat overlooked.

If I'm not mistaken Mane has 7 League goals this season. I'm pretty sure 3 of those came in the first 3 games, meaning he has 4 goals from 19 League matches.

It's just symptomatic of the majority of the side not functioning in the normal fashion we have come to expect. If Salah's goal-scoring output this season was similar to that of Mane and Firmino then things would look really bad!

Would love to be able to gift Mane or Firmino a tap-in against Sheffield.

This.

That goal he scored, cant remember who it was against, where it appeared to be a deflection off the keeper, but he used some sorcery to flick it by him and tap it in. That was a delight to watch in slow motion.

He's the one you'd want up front when he is back at the moment. Was showing incredible promise.

We were complaining about having two Bobby threads and you were the last person to post on both of them making them number 1&2 threads 🤣
