Brentford 1-0 Spurs
Fraser Forster deputising for Lloris doesn’t cover himself in glory and Janelt bumps it over the line from close range.

Kev0909
26th December 2022, 02:03 PM
Thought brentford would help us and get a result today

Hopefully stays the same but spurs always start slow

miller0863
26th December 2022, 02:08 PM
Good save from Forster denies a Brentford second. Spurs decent possession without creating any clear chances, Son the danger with Kulusevski looking lively, Kane not had a kick

miller0863
26th December 2022, 02:11 PM
Kane with the fewest touches on the pitch, including both keepers, 40 gone.

miller0863

Toney shows Núñez how to finish a one on one but he’s half a yard offside.

miller0863
26th December 2022, 02:46 PM
Sloppy attempted clearance by Eric Dier shinned out for a corner. Corner swung in from the Brentford right and it’s a tap in for Toney from 2 yards and Spurs’ bright start to the second half wasted.

Brentford 2-0 Spurs
55 gone

miller0863
26th December 2022, 02:58 PM
And that’s why Harry Kane is such a valuable player, hardly a sniff all game but wins a header in a crowded box and places a brilliant header across the keeper into the corner.

Brentford 2-1 Spurs
65 gone

Mbuemo spurns a real chance for 3-1 as I type.

miller0863
26th December 2022, 03:04 PM
Lucky deflection on Kane’s ball into the box and it falls to the feet of Hojbjerg who calmly equalises into the corner.
Two goals in 7 minutes

Brentford 2-2 Spurs

Spurs the comeback kings

miller0863
26th December 2022, 03:07 PM
Two horrendous dives trying to get a penalty one at either end, Mbueno booked, Doherty not.

84th minute and Kane heads against the crossbar

miller0863

Straight down the other end and Toney puts it over from close range under pressure

F/T Brentford 2-2 Spurs
Decent game, fair result

Now we need to take advantage and get within 5 points with a game in hand by winning at Villa.

Echo these sentiments.

Going to be a grind this season but a slow, stubborn clawing-back of the points might be what it takes.

A Top Four finish and bringing something like our best against Real Madrid are imperative. I'm rather indifferent to the FA Cup given the injury situation and the slow start - extra fixtures are a hindrance we don't need just now.

Amartey with a terrible tackle gifts Newcastle with a penalty on two minutes

Leicester 0-1 Newcastle

More brilliance from Almiron, beating a couple of flat footed Leicester defenders to put Newcastle 2-0 up at Leicester.
Newcastle heading for second place

26th December 2022, 04:11 PM
Mina gets a free header from a 7th minute corner and it’s an early lead for the bitter shite.
Mina only playing because Cody can’t play against his parent club.

Man City Arsenal Newcastle +1 top4.
Between United Spurs Chelsea Liverpool
A long way to go but the injuries, age, and lack of investment is catching up with Liverpool.
Chelsea will sack Potter soon.
Conte gets results
United a new beginning.
Gonna be very intriguing the 2nd part of the season.
We need a lot of luck , no more injuries (lol), and a few signings in January.

Really can't stick the smarmy Howe face. Newcastle fans are in the very near future going to be despised more than Chelsea and Man City.
They are already so self righteous. Think they know everything.
Newcastle will soon lose their soul.
The big stumbling block is even if there is shit loads of cash , geographically and weather wise it isn't Barcelona or even Italy nor London.
(Sorry no disrespect if you live there)
But footballers are a bit stupid and probably don't realise where they'll be living and working.
This could be the difficulty.
Already I see Guimares asking £200k a week. Newcastle won't be able to keep their best players because Newcastle isn't fashionable or desirable enough. Especially for the wags.

Big enough stadium, and Howe is doing a good job as much as it might annoy people.

Seems to have learnt a bit from Simeone in terms of defending and brought the big spending together nicely so far

Steveo

Put big spending owners in at a club with genuinely passionate support and it takes very little time. The Saudis don’t have to tippie toe like UAE had to.

OMG Wolves steal it at the death. Everton were all over them. Pushing for the win. And boom - the sucker punch..

Frank looked utterly sick

miller0863
26th December 2022, 05:55 PM
Knowledgeable Goodison crowd baying for their team to lump it forward, they finally relent and do as they’re asked. It immediately breaks down and Wolves breakaway in numbers and snatch the three points in the 95th minute.

F/T Everton 1-2 Wolves

Ah dear, poor bitter shite

Yeah, Everton are scoring (slightly) more than sides below them I think and conceding less - think Nottingham and Southampton have conceded something mad like 30 goals or so each.

Big disappointment is Liverpool losing points to forest and Leeds (defeats) 6 points which have definitely put us in a very difficult position for CL qualification.

Arsenal and Newcastle need some bad luck and injuries to key players.

This could be a very exciting season for the purists to see the top 4 qualification.

miller0863
27th December 2022, 07:46 PM
Can’t worry about what’s gone, looking forward we need the midfield to protect the back four better and we should be able to put a couple of really strong runs together. Despite missing Bobby, Jota and Diaz we are making plenty of chances at the other end.

Yeah there won't be many true "neutrals" that watch the Premier League but you would imagine that games like -

Tottenham v Chelsea
Tottenham v Man United
Tottenham v Liverpool
Chelsea v Man United
Chelsea v Liverpool
Man United v Liverpool

etc etc will be quite fun this year for casual viewers as the stakes could potentially be quite high.

Take our match at Anfield against Man United in early March - every chance there will only be a few points between the clubs at the time? If it's a 6-point gap say, it becomes the difference between a 3-point gap and a 9-point gap. The casual Super Sunday crowd will enjoy that.

Forest and Bournemouth represented nice ways for Man United and Chelsea to ease their way back in.

There'll be other nights. Assuming the Mancs win and anything else is a bonus.

Lingard is terrible, what a signing for forest not considering the wage he's on..... he's been awful for them.

we have 23 games to catch spurs and utd, not to worried especially now we're signing another attacking option which is needed with Diaz out until god knows when, and salah is on and off.

Rather laughable coaching standard in this league. Leeds are playing at home and they are unable to pass the ball to each other.First thing a coach should do when he arrives is to make sure his team keep possession. You just spend half the time running around after it, if you don't
