A 3rd of Ibrahimović goals were offside when he played for them lot. apart from that he did well.

    Agree wholeheartedly.

Cavani also, for all his goals, has a Higuain-esque aptitude for missing a sitter.

I wouldn't say his record is shite, has better figures than firmino ever did here for utd. (ok yeah firmino runs)

not done bad since considering his age too, cavani isn't near ibra, probably because of playstyles so ibra can carry on longer / fitness too cavani has been injured a lot i think?

    Some figures

    games 554 goals 368 assists 142

Very rare a player carry's on like he does, credit to him, I think ronaldo could do the same.

Yep his stats are mighty impressive BUT he is way beyond the few stats collated. On his day totally unplayable - even at the highest level. A true force of nature. He was well worth the gamble by United at the time. Hopefully Cavani doesn’t have similar effect

I don't think cavanis stats are much different on the goalscoring side at least, but I just think he's "past it" more than Ibra was at the same age.

he hasn't played loads much from end of 17/18 season

I expect him to still score goals if given the chances but It's not exactly going to make utd into a challenging team, they need to focus on defense.

"On his day" was a few years before he arrived at Utd.
Another player hyped up because he has a huge ego. Him and Pogba would be well matched.

They've had a long time to sign him, let's face it, it's out of desperation.

Well it’s opinion but IMO Ibra was actually the victim of his own hype. Never credited with his true talent over here.

The real judges - the fans and managers of every club he ever played for tell a different story. United were filth when a half fit over the hill Zlatan rocked up... they won 3 trophies - not a prayer of that without him.

It looks like an act of desperation on both parts. United can't get who they really want, and no-one else seem interested in Cavani.
If you're not sure what to do with the ball, just put it in the net, and we'll talk about the other options later... Bob Paisley.
