I wouldn't underestimate Cavani. He's been one of Europe's best strikes for many years and has an impressive resume. He's still "only" 33, which isn't terminal for someone who doesn't rely on pace too much.

Re: Genuine title race / CL final with United - fuck that. Keep them as small and irrelevant as possible for as long as possible. Ferguson was only ever scared of an LFC comeback - never gave a toss about Chelsea or City or even Arsenal I'd wager (though I'm too young to remember).

Hes been good over the years no doubt but it's a big ask for any player to come to the premier league at 33 and make the difference they require.
