Anfield’s new capacity will be 61,015, with summer 2023 the aim for completion

Really pleased that the club are pressing ahead with these stunning plans despite Covid. I feared the worst. This will not only allow more die hard fans tickets but will also make the ground far more imposing - balancing up with the main stand. Can’t wait.

Looks amazing! A bit annoyed it'll take so long - iirc work was supposed to start this year, but the damn pandemic got in the way. Looks very nice. A capacity of 61k is far more befitting of a club like LFC. Wonder how big Anfield could realistically get without a major infrastructure overhaul? I'd wager not much more than the planned 61k but you never know...

Yep - this would take us the to absolute limit. Exposes the joke that is Liverpool city council. Nearest train station is 1.3 miles away (over 2 Kilometres) at Sandhills - that's a 30 minute walk away without a crowd!!! Also this station is borderline useless for many fans who would need to get to Lime Street @ 2 miles ( well over 3 kilometres) or - god forbid - wait to squeeze onto a bus to get somewhere else. Most end up walking home or miles to find a cab or their parked car.

The stadium has only been there since 1884..

ONLY 1884? so before cars were invented???

Anyway just knock a few rows of houses down on the other side and extend further in future. People will have move out of their house if they like it or NOT (joke)
