    LFC as a fixed asset..
FSG paid how much to buy us?
How much conservatively are we now worth?

No. Just us and the Boston Red Sox (baseball). They were getting mixed up with the Glazer's.

    @Sid

It's not as if it's only us who have a very high wage bill, and only us who are offering our players incentive based contracts, something that is offset by the money we gain if/when we and our players are successful. We may well be near the top end on both of those fronts, but then again we are near the very top in terms of money coming in. The difference between what we are spending on those two things versus what other teams are spending on them isn't going to be enough to justify why they are still spending/bringing in new players, while we aren't.

If we can’t spend now when we are at the top of the pile (if reports that we have to sell to buy are true) then what chance do we have if we slip out of the top 4?

Rumours that Villa are after Brewster for £20m. Maybe if that goes ahead (hope it doesn’t) and Gini goes to Barca then we might be able to afford Thiago.

We finished 33 points ahead of the side that finished in 3rd spot. A side that had spent £200m on the Summer.

It would take quite a lot for United, Chelsea or Spurs to finish above us. But for ALL of them to do so? We would need to be horrendously bad, whilst they would all need to massively improve.

    Just don't see it.

A few injury's to key players we'd struggle to be fair

but that's like most teams I suppose.

Other teams do have better depth though

We're not quite in the ngog days for backup, but it's still not great

Some of the sides that have that better depth have fairly inferior first teams though and/or Managers.

Very relaxed about our position. 97 points, 99 points.

Maybe they don't want Alcantara due to his age and what he would cost in wages, he would also have no sell on value. There's a difference between not affording a player and getting value for money. How many 29 year olds have the club bought ?, it's something they rarely do, and i can go back more than most.
If you're not sure what to do with the ball, just put it in the net, and we'll talk about the other options later... Bob Paisley.

if we're losing wij I don't see the difference

how many players are out there of thiagos level and running out of contract /avaiable?

In coronavirus times or whenever really, we won't get much for Wij if anything if he goes for free- not like we've got the money to invest in some expensive upcoming young midfielder is it
