You answered your own question in that second line. If a club in the current position that Man U are can have a 'quality' backup keeper, then we should be able to acquire a decent/reliable one ourselves.

Adrian may be 'ok', but he's error prone, and our defence looked nervy with him there even before VVD got injured. You can't predict the future, but once events unfold in an unsatisfactory way, doing nothing about it when nothing is stopping you addressing said issue(s) is pure negligence.

Henderson may have come through their youth team, but they also have Romero. If they can have one or two quality backup keepers, so can we.

Adrian when not having 'one of those games' is a decent goalie. The problem is that he has had a number of 'those games', which has had the knock on effect of instilling nerves in those in front of him. Nobody would mention Adrian or any other backup player's performances if they weren't playing.

Romero is better than Adrian, sure, but the difference isn't giagantic. And United have only had that second quality back-up goalie for what, a month? I mean the length of time they've had two capable deputies.

As LEGS points out, this is clearly a temporary situation for them.

He has a £36m release clause but is that in the summer only ??

Not seen enough of him to know how good he is he would need to be good in the air.
