Jurgen certainly seemed to be fluttering his eyelids at Odegaard yesterday. At what point is it considered to be tapping up?

I've typed this a couple of times and each time it sounds like I am being sarcastic/snarky and I can only tell you that it isn't my intention and that my question is sincere -

Can it really be considered "tapping up" if their contract is expiring?

For the €20 million Dortmund move his agent was reportly paid €15 million and for some reason his Dad paid €10 million.
It's things like this that makes us of a certain age,question why we still love football.

The latest on any new deal is the good old agent just wants the same, €20 million. But the dad now wants the same as the agent, €20 million. Also the player wants alot more in wages which I suppose is normal.

Scratch what I said on Odegaard - apparently his contract WAS until 2021 but was extended until 2023 just before the Real Sociedad move.

I do take extra pleasure from the careers of these lads falling off a cliff in such circumstances.

All this media/agent fuss has put me right off the idea of Haaland in some ways. Just want us to find "another" Jota/Mane type. In the door, no fuss, no drama, contribute.

We need 6 good players in the forward positions, plus need to consider weaning one of the older members of the "three" out and Firmino/Mane/Salah/Jota is a bloody good start in that department.

Shaqiri+Origi (in terms of appearances) can be replaced by one player to make the "fifth" (ideally Jota sort of level, slowly wean Firmino into less games) and then you have a sixth spot that will be taken up by Minamino (or Minamino's replacement) or Elliott. I'd probably want to have a body in there so that Elliott could go on loan and develop for another year, but we really aren't a million miles away from being in a good spot for the forward positions.

That got a bit long-winded (quelle surprise, it's me) - but a bit early yet for a Your-Squad-Structure-for-21/22 thread just yet.

I am a huge fan of Haaland the player Sid and he was the one id have signed.

The way his gang have gone about business I dont want him he could ruin the dressing room no player is worth that hassle.
