When is the last time we signed famous superstar players? since Torres maybe?

Alisson and VVD were expensive but they were not world famous superstar like Mbappe with superstar wages.

    Quite.

There's a part of my mind that is subconsciously accustomed to the drudgery of our difficult period spanning from the end of Rafa's time to Klopp's time really kicking into gear, where we weren't a terribly attractive destination in many ways, historic accomplishments and such aside.

    09/10 - 7th - 7 points off 4th.
    10/11 - 6th - 10 points off 4th.
    11/12 - 8th - 17 points off 4th.
    12/13 - 7th - 12 points off 4th
    13/14 - 2nd - the exception
    14/15 - 6th - 8 points off 4th.

There's 5 of 6 seasons of being unable to qualify for the Champion's League via your League position. Amongst that, it's relatively easy to forget that it's not so long ago that we could finish 4 points behind Everton and 13 bloody points behind Newcastle in the same season - 11/12.

These days, we're a really attractive destination - 5 seasons in a row now of Champion's League qualification, finished in the top 3 for 3 seasons in a row now, with our main frustrations in the last 3 seasons (injuries aside) being "ach, didn't win the League that year" or "damn, really could have won the Champion's League with that side, semi-finals at the very least with luck" - so every player that wants a little pay rise or whatever else will have their agents being linked with us.

    William Dunlop- £35

23-year-old Scottish left back William "Billy" Dunlop is likely Liverpool's first transfer record holder when he joined the club in January 1895 from Paisley Abercorn for £35. He would go on to play for Liverpool for 14 years, amassing an impressive 325 appearances.

Might have cost a lot ( teehee ) BUT be fair - what an absolute bloody bargain.

Yes but the previous transfer window we sold Jimmy McTavish for £12 and Hamish Smith for £8 so we were still a selling club back then. FFS Parry

Aww - and just 4 years old at the time too..

Proper owners back then - Only had to wait another 4 years to win a first league title in 1901 - and from nothing too - then another 5 years later 1906.. What memories

Useless fact for you ( you may already know). Adi and Rudolph Dassler formed Adidas in the 1940s. They fell out so Rudolph started his own sports brand called Puma.

Yeah I’d say Torres was the last.
