Your point only holds true if the two values are the same to begin with:

    Original revenue £1,000,000
    Original wages £ 300,000

    Increase in revenue 69%
    Increase in wages 95%

    New revenue £1,690,000
    New wages £585,000

    Increase in revenue £690,000
    Increase in wages £285,000

In this example, the increase in revenue comfortably covers the increase in wages.

Without looking, I don't know what the original revenue and figures are, but I'd be astounded if the increased revenue didn't cover the increase in wages (in fact wages would need to be in excess of 86% of total revenue for this to be the case.

West Ham have reportedly set a price tag of £35m for Jarrod Bowen after Liverpool were linked with his signature (they signed him for £22m in Jan 2020)

Hammers fans seem keen on Origi when he was linked with them so a straight swap it is then!

If we do A to fund B plus Konate it will be a serious waste of resources

Liverpool could sell English centre-back Nat Phillips, 24, Welsh winger Harry Wilson, 24, Belgian forward Divock Origi, 26, Wales full-back Neco Williams, 20, and Switzerland midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri, 29, as they look to raise £60-70m. (Liverpool Echo)

Liverpool have identified West Ham's 24-year-old English forward Jarrod Bowen as a potential transfer target. (Athletic, via Metro)

Our wage bill is typically between 50% to 60% of our turnover.
Presently around 57% but it's been a while since I've looked at club accounts.

The point you make is good, I've made it myself too

You can see wages rise at a higher rate than income and still see larger profits available.

As with your example where the profit margin of income minus wages is around 1 million and before those rises it was 700k

The issue for LFC presently is the impact of top4 on finances. Miss it and banked profits can disappear rather quickly.

Wages as a percentage of turnover is the best metric to track for a club.
