Meh. If he's out well miss him but the league is of shit quality. Without him we are still at least as good as all the other sides so won't panic just yet. Everton had us at home today and were made look second best for long periods despite having their best form in ages. City are not great, united are shit as are arsenal and Chelsea. Will affect us in Europe alright but we'll cope in the league.

Absolutely gutted BUT if we are even close to as good as people say we are - then we will cope.
Good points. It's been coming to one of our better players, two at the same time unfortunately.
Even without him we'll still be there or there abouts.
Gomez and Matip should still be good enough most of the time, it's just the fine margins in games against the likes of City might not go our way without him.
Still our failure to bring in another partner for him could be compounded now, or the other guys show us how good they can be. Hopefully theyve learnt a lot from playing with him.

The report from BeIn is based on a text to De Jong from Virgil. Club probably won’t confirm until tomorrow.

Thiago went to the hospital also but no info.

It's our worst nightmare having those two missing at the same time.

Oh I am agreeing. Deep down we all knew we needed to add quality at CB. We are effectively relying on one key individual to marshal the entire defence with no other viable alternative when he is absent.

This is the problem with sell to buy. We just have to hope Matip and Gomez can rise to the challenge and stay injury free.

I wouldn't give much of a shite what people say, Steveo. The same were proclaiming Conte's Chelsea and Pep's City as the greatest ever PL sides. It's just clickbait.

We're very good. We'll cope. We won't be as good, but hey-ho, so it goes. Stevie used to get injured a bunch, we coped. We'll cope without him.

We're now firmly behind City in terms of likelihood of winning the league. Let's concentrate on guaranteeing top4 and take it from there.

I thought Rhys Williams looked pretty good for a 19 year old when I saw him play. And we've got Koumetio coming along too.
We just have to take it on the chin. The silver lining is, if we do have to play either of those two youngsters for any length of time it will be a fantastic learning curve for them at a very intense level, With Fab or Matip to guide them, could be alright.

VVD is not replaceable we all know this and other clubs fans do as "some" seem happy at the news.

The obvious worry is Matip/Gomez pick up quite a few injuries we are in the shit if that happens.

I have said from the start City are my tip and still are but what we are seeing is the league is quite open and some weird results have happened so we are not out of it but its a huge blow.

In short not good but nothing we can do about it now.

Luckily, it's Sheff Utd at home next so i don't think they'll present too many problems.
