    20/21 Score predictions week 8 results and week 9 fixtures

    Week 8 results

    Going into week 8 the question on everyone's mind (well mine at least, for a few seconds anyway) was whether Balinkay would find being atop the table more comfortable than his usual EL position, and as a result whether he'd put in a performance to signal to the rest of the league that he intends to occupy that position come the season's end.

    Well if that was going to happen, this week was as good as any to do so given that perfect scores had gone back to being a rare commodity. As a result nobody managed to make it into double figures this week, but a handful of participants still managed to accrue a reasonable total. Out of those that did so, only one person managed to get more than one perfect score, and that person was week eight's winner Joetan who top scored with nine points. A point behind Joetan was Skyebo, whilst a further point behind there was a three way tie for third between BlackSalmon, Kev0909, and Redebreck.

    Week eight's special mentions go to Joetan who was the only person to get more than one perfect score, as well as the only person to the West Brom score spot on, BlackSalmon who did the same with the Southampton result, and Reddownunder who was the only person to predict that we'd draw 1-1 with the blue Mancs.

    Week 8 scores

    Joetan = 9 points (2 perfect scores and 3 correct results - West Ham v Fulham & WBA v Tot)

    Skyebo = 8 points (1 perfect score and 5 correct results - West Ham v Fulham)

    BlackSalmon = 7 points (1 perfect score and 4 correct results - Southampton v New Utd)

    Kev0909 = 7 points (7 correct results)

    Redebreck = 7 points (7 correct results)

    Reddownunder = 6 points (1 perfect score and 3 correct results - Liverpool v Man City)

    CCTV = 5 points (5 correct results)

    Charliev = 5 points (5 correct results)

    Fayyazms = 5 points (5 correct results)

    Ianlfc = 5 points (5 correct results)

    Dicko1969 = 4 points (4 correct results)

    RedNoodle = 4 points (4 correct results)

    Balinkay = 3 points (3 correct results)

    Justme = 3 points (3 correct results)

    At the end of week 8 Balnkay decided that he much prefers his much more comfortable EL spot, as shown by him changing his BS v MU prediction at the last minute, something that cost him the point that would have meant he'd still be occupying top spot. As a result of that last minute alteration CCTV has gone back to the top of the league, though this time he is joined by Kev0909. Last years champ Reddownunder continues his charge up the league, and he now occupies the last CL spot. Due to a combination of Joetan and Skyebo having a good week, whilst Dicko1969 and yours truly did the opposite, we now have a five way tie for the EL place between those four participants and Charliev, though there is now only an eight point gap between top and bottom, showing that even a poor week or two can be overcome in double quick time.

    Current standings

    CCTV = 48

    Kev0909 = 48

    Balinkay = 47

    Reddownunder = 46

    Charliev = 45

    Dicko1969 = 45

    Joetan = 45

    RedNoodle = 45

    Skyebo = 45

    Justme = 43

    Fayyazms = 41

    Redebreck = 41

    Ianlfc = 40

    BlackSalmon = 40
