Genuinely broken by this news. I met him twice and he was so warm and sincere; he absolutely loved the club, the city and the people. I'm stunned.
I bet you can squeal like a pig!

I am really glad he got to see us finally win the league. No man on earth would have been prouder.
What a terrible year this has been all round.

Me too mate, I welled up in the car when I found out. He was manager all through my time going to matches regularly. Never met him but have so many fond memories of him. He stuck up for the club big time and is part of the fabric.
I know it wont happen and some disagree but I genuinely think he should be on that flag on the Kop.
    Thommos tribute is particularly great.

He got us, as a club
    He got us, the city
He changed our club structure, our habits
He brought Owen and Gerard through, got some bloke named Hyppia
I saw his smile in Germany 2001, UEFA Cup

I've only just got up (as a result of my own health issues) and heard the sad news. I'm just listening to some tributes on the radio and I genuinely started tearing up. It upsets me greatly whenever something bad happens to someone good.

RIP Ged. You will be greatly missed.

The smile he had whenever we would win or score a goal. Always loved him and his personality. RIP
