    I wondered where you'd got to BlackSalmon. I thought you might have been engaging in/recovering from 'festive activities' and had forgotten all about the predictions competition.

    Racking up a big score has been hard to achieve at the best of times, never mind when you've got things such as Covid putting a very big spanner in the works. As a result of the current pandemic two games were postponed meaning that any kind of upper single digit score would have been worthy of praise this week, and with that being the case a number of participants can give themselves a pat on the back for managing to get that kind of points total. The three people who will have to cram themselves onto the top of the podium this week are your joint winners Ianlfc, Justme and Skyebo who all top scored with eight points apiece. Just missing out on the fun on/atop of the podium were Dicko1969 and Joetan who both scored seven points.

    This week's special mentions go to Balinkay who was the only person to get the Southampton v West Ham score spot on, but also Joetan who not only was the sole participant to correctly predict the Arsenal v Brighton score, but he managed to score seven points (just missing out on being atop the podium this week), which is all the more impressive given that not only were two games postponed, but he also missed getting in his predictions for two other games. Good going Joetan.

    Week 16 scores

    Ianlfc = 8 points (2 perfect scores and 2 correct results - Chelsea v Villa, Burnley v Sheff Utd)

    Justme = 8 points (2 perfect scores and 2 correct results - Crystal Palace v Leicester, Chelsea v Villa)

    Skyebo = 8 points (1 perfect score and 5 correct results - Chelsea v Aston Villa)

    Dicko1969 = 7 points (2 perfect scores and 1 correct result - Crystal Palace v Leicester, Burnley v Sheffield Utd)

    Joetan = 7 points (2 perfect scores and 1 correct result - Brighton v Arsenal, Burnley v Sheffield Utd)

    RedNoodle = 6 points (1 perfect score and 3 correct results - Burnley v Sheffield Utd)

    Fayyazms = 5 points (1 perfect score and 2 correct results - Burnley v Sheffield Utd)

    Redebreck = 5 points (5 correct results)

    Balinkay = 4 points (1 perfect score and 1 correct result - Southampton v West Ham)

    Kev0909 = 4 points (1 perfect score and 1 correct result - Burnley v Sheffield Utd)

    Charliev = 3 points (3 correct results)

    Reddownunder = 2 points (2 correct results)

    CCTV = 1 points (1 correct result)

    Given that two games were postponed, people may have expected low scores across the board, which in turn would have had little impact on the table, but sometimes it is possible to make hay whilst the sun is almost completely obscured and one person did just that. As a result of his joint week winning total Skyebo is the first competitor to make it into three figures and he has now opened up a seven point gap over the current champion Reddownunder, who himself is now only a point ahead of Redebreck. Charliev is still in fourth, but he's now joined by Joetan after his heroics this week in managing to post a good score despite the postponements and failing to get his predictions in for two games.

    Elsewhere Dicko1969 and CCTV pass each other in the table after they each respectively climbed/fell two places.

    Current standings

    Skyebo = 103

    Reddownunder = 96

    Redebreck = 95

    Charliev = 92

    Joetan = 92

    Dicko1969 = 90

    CCTV = 89

    Fayyazms = 89

    Ianlfc = 87

    Kev0909 = 87

    RedNoodle = 87

    Balinkay = 85

    Justme = 85

    BlackSalmon = 62

    If you're not sure what to do with the ball, just put it in the net, and we'll talk about the other options later... Bob Paisley.
