It's hard to say. I think the secret is not to think about it and just get some wins.

Nobody is out in front, really. If we assume United win their next game, but we were to beat them, we'd be level at the top - unless City or whoever were ahead, which would only be by a couple of points.

Do I fancy us for the Title in the heat of the current moment? Not really, no. But for all we know Jota comes back and we change something - 4231 with all 4 of the "main" attackers starting, Thiago and Hendo behind that (it's an example) and let's say it clicks - it can't be ruled out, just as our malaise continuing and Top Four becoming a concern can't be ruled out - it can go either way frankly.

One thing is for certain though - we need to dig seriously deep and we need to change something at present. I doubt I'd start Trent against United for a start.

But what did we do with the 70 or so odd minutes before that and after we fell behind the Saints?

A call for a penalty not given in a game you come off as second best, is basically an admission that you couldn't have scored without the referee's help.

Even if Mane wasn't fouled in that play, do you really think he'd have done anything with the chance after he got free?
Does anyone really believe that that was a dead-set scoring chance that was taken away from us?

It's too easy to blame the refs because it allows us to overlook our own shortcomings, and we've become too comfortable with doing that (especially the VAR officials) as a club.

I'd probably feel different if we had had 80% possession and 18 shots on target (out of 26 shots total or something), because at least those stats show a team that was actually trying to win.

But it's games like that were you need them decisions when you're going for the league. Scraping a draw or a win. I just felt tonight nothing was dropping for us and the possible penalty calls were we've seen other teams going for the league get the call.
But we go again, next up in the league. Man Utd.

His issues at Dortmund had already been mentioned a few times this season. They are going to be highlighted even more now. I had my fingers crossed that he/those that hired him had learned their lesson/from others mistakes, but it seems not.
