Honestly I don't know. Seems like there are so many ways to interpret. The point many will make is surely Dier is blatantly manhandling Bobby - so how can his handball be penalised without first penalising Dier OR ref using common sense and just letting it play out.

I am totally lost on what is and what isn't a goal anymore

They changed it. It has to lead directly to the goal. As in next pass as far as I know. I’m baffled by this though. If the ref sees dier manhandling Bobby but doesn’t notice the handball which is caused by the said manhandling and plays advantage to Liverpool( hypothetical) and the play goes on and we score and var pulls it back for the accidental handball caused by being fouled what way does he rule then?

    Aaaah, very cool! Thanks!

Then my guess is that they thought it was deliberate.

Is it fair to say they Ballsed up the rules ?

    1) lovrens 'direct attempt to play' the ball re Kane. Initially a rule to allow an offside player to intercept a back pass from a player to their own keeper - interpreted to... any effort to stop a ball getting to an offside opponent.

    2) offside Lamella winning a penalty having been offside and got in between VVD and the ball he was trying to clear.
Again offside, but not offside from an interpretation of an a direct attempt to play the ball, nulling the offside player from interfering with play.

How did the game restart after the disallowed goal? I'm assuming Spurs got a freekick on the halfway line?

They changed this after City's goal vs Villa. A good chance the Lamela one would have been given as offside if I understand correctly.
