But for all our woes this season, we're actually only 7 points behind. There are little moments in the season where they and Leicester look to be pulling away (both sides were 9 points ahead of us recently and people would have felt those 2 sides were safe for Top Four) and they're now both back to looking over their shoulders a little at West Ham/Chelsea/Liverpool/Everton/Villa/Tottenham to some degree.

All largely irrelevant if we don't perform. Goes without saying. But we all know what a difference the Champion's League makes for sides, in terms of prestige of being there, in terms of the money, in terms of a slightly lighter schedule than juggling the Europa League, in terms of the capacity to attract players and grow as a Club.

If Man United ended up bombing a few results and missing out, it slows their "rebirth" a bit. If Leicester miss out, it slows down their chance at becoming a regular rival and so on. With the Covid situation and the financial hit taken by clubs, this season more than most could widen/close gaps depending on what happens.
Exactly Sid, it's not about whether the filthy finish above us or not, them having a major collapse, as there is enormous potetnial for looking at their fixtures, would be a very good thing and improve our chances of getting top four if we can put a few wins together, one game at a time

The bitters score a second, correctly ruled out by VAR for offside

HT SHit cunts leading, Adams should have had a pen, wrestled by Godfrey, who then deliberately falls blocking Adams, who falls over him in their box (sound familiar?) what no pen?

As I said weeks if not months ago, it’s the kind of penalty given against us almost without thought, yet the following week it’s, “you’re not getting a penalty for that.”

I always want the bitters to lose, real team of shit cunts, divers and persistent foulers, no sympathy for Southampton though, commentary talk about them getting a rough ride from VAR, well in our game they got away with a handball blocking a shot on goal and their RB clumsily fouling Mane by running into his leg as it came up, both one of those fouls Dermot Gallagher was talking about being given week in week out

The 2 instances I can instantly remember of the defender running into the players leg clumsily as it came up in his natural stride of running were on Pogba v Villa and more recently Greizman v PSG, both insta pens as they always are

Southampton's was a penalty, the bitters against us was never ever a penalty in a million years, I have never seen one given for that in all my years watching the game and probably never will again, there was one in the Spurs Burnley game, player slides to block, Son gets the break of the ball, player still on the floor, Son falls over him, not a pen, they're never pens

Our media are an absolute shower of cunts, some twat in my household reads the Daily Fail, thei back page today "CONSPIRACY" after the filthy were not given ONE fucking decision, having been given loads in the last third of last season and so far in this, honestly, absolute fucking cunts
