Week 27 results
After last week's expanded fixture list which resulted in the majority of the league posting double digit scores, this week was always likely to be a case of "after the lord mayor's show" given a return to the standard number of fixtures, and that's exactly how things played out. In stark contrast to week 26's scores, nobody this week managed to make it in double figures, however the person who came the closest to doing so is this week's winner Redebreck who top scored with nine points. He just managed to pip Skyebo to top spot by a single point, with this week's third place balancing act comprising of Charliev, Dicko1969 and Kev0909 who finished another point further back.
This first of this week's special mentions goes to Skyebo who not only was the only person to get more than one scoreline spot on, but he was also the only person to correctly predict the scores in the Villa v Wolves and West Ham v Leeds games. Reddownunder did likewise with the Butnley v Arsenal match, Charliev with the Sheffield Utd v Saints game, whilst Dicko1969 correctly predicted that West Brom v Newcastle would be a goalless snooze-fest.
Week 27 scores
Redebreck = 9 points (1 perfect score and 6 correct results - Brighton v Leicester)
Skyebo = 8 points (2 perfect scores & 2 correct results - Villa v Wolves & W-Ham v Leeds)
Charliev = 7 points (1 perfect score and 4 correct results - Sheffield Utd v Southampton)
Dicko1969 = 7 points (1 perfect score and 4 correct results - West Brom v Newcastle)
Kev0909 = 7 points (1 perfect score and 4 correct results - West Brom v Newcastle)
Reddownunder = 6 points (1 perfect score and 3 correct results - Burnley v Arsenal)
Ianlfc = 5 (5 correct results)
RedNoodle = 5 (5 correct results)
Fayyazms = 4 points (4 correct results)
CCTV = 3 points (1 perfect score - Brighton v Leicester)
Current standings
At the end of week 27 Skyebo has extended his lead at the top of the table to eleven points over Reddownunder. Due to a poor week I have dropped from third to sixth, and as a result there is now a three way tie for third between Charliev, Dicko1969 and Kev0909. It seems that just like the actual league, it looks like the race for the last two CL spots is going to going down to the wire. Elsewhere as a result of his week winning total Redebreck moves up a place. He is still in with a chance of a European adventure next season, but he'll need to hope he can replicate this week's performance in the final few weeks we have left.
