Southgate is a p.poor manager who has got the gig because he is another 'company man' who will toe the party line.
As has been the case for many a year, that will go a long way/get you very far in life, possibly even more so than putting in lots of effort and actually being good at your job/talented.

It's a bit shit really for the english lads, with a good manager they might be able to get somewhere because they have the players, or at least go far and not going out to any half-decent team they play against.
Like I said it seems the same as eurovision, we pick anyone for manager..... even the u21's, I'm sure Ireland do too.
