Yet more VAR nonsense in the Burnley v Newcastle game. Tarkowski clears the ball but his foot also makes contact with the Newcastle lad’s head. He was standing upright with just a slight nod down towards the ball. Absolute stonewall penalty, anywhere else on the pitch it’s dangerous play, foul and a yellow. In Europe probably a red.
VAR replay it several times and give nothing. Just how high does a boot have to be to be deemed dangerous play?? I would have though head height should do it.

Bloody officials in our league are totally incompetent

VAR needs to start being accountable for these decisions. That Tarkowski high foot is inexplicable, someone needs to come out and explain that as there is no logical reason to not give a pen. Bring in broadcasted dialogue like rugby so we can understand the decision making process. There is one rule for the penalty areas and another for elsewhere.

It is even more infuriating when so many soft free kicks are given when all a player does is literally fall over or drop to his knees with minimal contact. 9 times out of 10 refs give them, makes my blood boil.

These two sides of the game are killing it for me and I am getting closer each game to just switching it off.

The decision yesterday was probably correct by the letter of the law, the problem is that ‘letter’ is very wrong. Needs to be thicker lines and a gap between them to be offside. That will at least bring back the marginal offsides in the attacking teams favour.

    Something needs to change fast.

Newcastle have turned it around at Turf Moor, with two second half goals

    Burnley 1-2 Newcastle

High foot by Burnley outside the box, free kick given.

Really hoping for a West Ham win. If they do, 3rd and 4th spot are up for grabs because the table would read:

    3. LEI 31 56pts
    4. WHU 31 55pts
    5. CHE 31 54 pts
    6. LIV 31 52 pts

If Leicester win, I think we'll be scrapping for one place with Chelsea, WHU, Spurs and possibly Everton

I think Var when it comes to offside should be similar to horse racing. whos ever in front is either onside off side..for instance if the defenders leg is front the forward is onside. it beggars belief that a defenders leg or arm can be in front. but the attacker can be given offside for a fucking sleeve. nonsense

Agree totally with Pigsy about accountability but the problem is it doesn't seem to be forthcoming. We can hope at the end of the season there is a review of things but I'm not holding my breath.

And the inconsistency continues as a second West Ham goal is checked for offside and it looks exactly the same as the one we had chalked off yesterday.
But it wasn’t us being checked was it??

Guess the outcome.... yep goal given.

    West Ham 2-0 Leicester
