Why was the attempt feeble? Explain yourself. If you accuse the owners of acting as parasites (again, just like with the cash cow analogy the parasite drains the host of its resources and diverts them to its own aims) and I show that the metaphor is not just wrong but opposite to what we are witnessing, isn't that enough to point out that you are not talking sense?
If you think they are draining the resources like parasites then make your case. Last time I checked, a host that is infected with a parasite tends to head rapidly towards its own demise, not become the best in the world.
