To be honest, I don’t know why everyone believed it would actually go ahead.
Said it on here yesterday morning at 7:39am, it was never going ahead, it was unsustainable.

Not everyone did. Only those who have no idea about logistics, never mind things such as the obvious reaction that supporters/fans/right thinking people would have to the proposals.

Everything points towards a combination of reasons for these proposals being announced in the way, and at the the time they were, namely these clubs trying to force the likes of UEFA's hand, and also putting out 'feelers' as to the viability/acceptability of a European super league in the near future.
