This is a minor retreat by the rich club's owners. Next time they will come back stronger

That is what I worry about fiordearg.
Nothing short of a public appearance in front of the fans by all those owners with a full apology and explanation with reassurances for the future will convince me otherwise.
Without that we and the others should be looking to get rid and make sure there are suitable constraints on new owners.

Well a watered down version of ESL is happening 2024.

Take a look at UEFA new CL format loads of extra games and 2 wildcards all for the good of the game.

Nothing to do with money at all just a better competition 😁

    This is a stupid taunt at the end of an unanswered challenge. There are more reasons than can mentioned but here's a few;

    1) clever investment in players - fixing the most important problems first
    2) wise investment in players - spending your money on Gini Wjinaldum rather than Moise Kean
    3) a sound academy structure that develops youngsters into confident players
    4) luck - having TAA come along at exactly the right time
    5) luck - playing Mo Salah continuously without injury
    6) luck - an injury crisis to all your centre backs
    7) a culture of very supportive and vociferous fans
    8) currency exchange rates - spending on foreign players
    9) local laws for academy recruiting
    10) local tax laws - eg Spanish clubs have to pay a Covid premium on all transfers, making purchases unattractive
    11) player loyalty - the steadying influence of Henderson versus the disruptive influence of Coutinho
    12) a good medical staff
    13) The manager's ability to rotate his team well over a long season
    14) The manager's tactics for resting players adequately
    15) Finding the right manager for the club - David Moyes at West Ham versus David Moyes at Man U
    16) income from merchandise
    17) Club History - attracting players like Van Djik who might have followed the money elsewhere
    18) Faith in success from the fans
    19) team moral
    20) WAGs happiness at the club
    21) stupid decisions like joining the ESL
    22) internet trolls and racism
    23) VAR decisions and sequences of decisions

    etc etc etc

I don't know what your point is - there are so many factors that go into success. Net spend is only one of them. That is obviously the case as we became the best team in the world with a low net spend. We didn't fluke it. We earned it.

I doubt you'll acknowledge the obvious sense of the above list but its there to view none the less

I was avoiding net spend on purpose, which is not something you are able to say!

Indeed - let’s forget net spend altogether.

These multiple factors are much more weighty. They are extremely illuminating.

I stand corrected. Now let’s move on

Can you list what points you are agreed on.
    Nothing more, nothing less.
    It would be interesting.
