You're not talking about similar demands on the linesman imo.
Typically they're adjacent to the ball when a corner is taken and the ball is static.
Whereas for a goal, the linesman is further away, the ball is moving and if the linesman was in the correct position looking straight across the goal line then the post would obscure their view.
Goal line technology is probably the best implementation of technology so far imo.
It's the only one for me.
