Thread: The members of our current squad: Keep as is, demote, or move on.

Nat Phillips and Davies shouldn't be anywhere near the first team.
Phillips looks like a farmer playing football.

A real joke our centre back situation in January.
Klopp put a big brave face on it.
Tbh it is remarkable liverpool are anywhere near the CL 4th place spot.

I think in the end the rest if the squad has had enough of the joke CB pairings and lost enthusiasm for this season.

Let's hope VVD Konaté Gomez Kabak next season.
Matip cannot give a full season. More fragile than daniel agger.

VVD Konate Matip Kabak and Gomez

Hopefully, Matip and Konate can time any spell they are out with a tweak with the other one being fit. Like Gomez Konate can play at RB when needed to see games out, strong CB options will give Jurgen the option to use 3 at the back on any occasion he sees fit

Having said that ; I see the echo talking about Lovren going as a mistake.
    No it wasn't.

    Also on the midfield
If Fabinho and Henderson in there that is a massive difference.
Gini, as much as he has been brilliant his head is elsewhere.

The front 3; here lies a big problem too.

Mane and Firmino not doing enough for a long time now.

Let's hope that the front 3 has 2 new additions.
Shaqiri Origi Ox and Keita big disappointments.

Wilson Jones and Elliot to come in for them.

Not too many positives this season after such an amazing 4 years .

We can draft in a couple of players from the bottom of their respective leagues - on Feb 1st '22 - one a kid to go in on the right and the other to sit on the bench with potential resale value..

If we happen to be playing in the Europa league or the Europa Conference league it should be an opportunity for fringe players to maintain a level of match sharpness and be ready to step in when required.

Over the past couple of years we have been lucky enough to have a brilliant first XI but there hasn't been enough rotation which has resulted in many players being injured or physically and/or mentally shot this season. This has also resulted in the fringe players being woefully short of fitness and match sharpness when required to step in.

I'd use the best XI for the league and FA cup and play the reserves in the Europa league / conference league and league cup next season.

That's ok, buy to sell on at a later date when the market recovered was what I was thinking, because I slated him numerous times as not being the type of defender we needed, there was plenty of chat about the possibility of signing him for a very low fee and selling him on at a later date when the market recovered

I could practically write word for word without trying to find an old post what I have repeatedly said about him and Gomez

    Not good one v one
Not good at stepping into midfield to dispossess opposition players looking to receive the ball between defence and midfield
Not good at driving the ball forward into midfield to make an extra man, forcing the opposition to break their organised lines
Not good enough in the air
Not good enough with the ball

I have repeated stated throughout my time here that I believe they are all the qualities any CB needs to be part of our first team

Sell Fabinho - Invest in Kabak
    Seems fair and objective
