Rodgers signing in the end proved to be garbage mostly.. Apart from Coutinho and Sturridge the latter spent his time in the hospital department. It the singings that was already at the club that made us challenge that season.
He should get respect for the time he was with us. But over all he flattered to deceive.

Job was a tough one. Replacing Kenny, really not easy, coping with the borderline mockumentary that was ‘Being Liverpool’ would have made things doubly hard.

It was too early in his career perhaps but he wasn’t going to turn down the chance to manage Liverpool FC. Yes he can come across as a bit of a tit, no argument, but got us to within a whisker of the title scoring over 100 goals.

Had to cope with the retirement of Carra - the loss Suarez AND of Gerrard before he was ousted.

Just think he got plenty of unfair stick. He is a former Liverpool manager and think deserves more respect that’s all.

With that train of thought, it was Houllier who won us the cup in 2005 then.

Just managed to watch the cup final.
Super strike from Tielemans (Leicester's only shot on target?) and 2 wonder saves by Schmeichel, miraculous even from Mount's volley (from Chelsea's only 3 shots on target) and a correct and agonising VAR decision at the end.

Also great to see and hear so many fans back in the stands again. And to see those years of joy from Leicester fans after many years since the PL win. Not just a one-off and still managing to punch above their weight. Good owners despite the tragic loss of the previous owner, good management and good signings.

Yes and no.. we were good when it was needed. Other than that our squad was pretty average to poor.

A 2-0 or 3-0 win for either Leicester or Chelsea would appear to be Tuesday evenings order

Preferably Leicester, as it means we might not have to win our last 2 games.

I find the argument about it being houllier's team doesn't stack up. At the time everyone was saying what a weak team we had. Rafa added a few quality signings and some European big game mentality. Yet after he won something houllier wanted to take credit. Strangely he didn't want credit for our appalling run in the league that year.

That cup final was a team of duds and crocks. It was a piece of magic that we pulled it off. Great changes by Rafa at half- time and great team spirit and Jerzy saves saw us through in the end.
