Oh please mate - they are exhibition tournaments.

Charity shield could be called a final too then.

I'm not counting anything mate, our lads have to be ready for another huge test and fight, Jurgen has to get his tactics right and we have to play to a very high level in everything we do to get the win on Sunday, it is a proper final, it will be a tough tough game, they have players who can hurt us, we have players who can hurt them, we have to make sure we give our players who can hurt them great opportunities to hurt them or more opportunities to hurt them and the best possible service we can and ensure that we stop the service to their players in areas they can hurt us and that we're ready to defend any and every situation with everything we have if they get any opportunities

Either way we need to be far better at the back than both the last two. How we win both games is beyond me. Even tonight - we had plenty of chances but so did they and barely had to work for them too.

I worry about Palace and our CB - got away with it last 2 IMO against far weaker threats.

Not that it is obvious - but I am proper bricking it

Yeah but you claimed they could have been 4-0 up by HT in the first meeting, when we were 1-0 up in 2 minutes 10 seconds and 2-0 on 38 minutes and we restricted them to just 3 shots on target the entire game

If we win 1-0 against Crystal Palace, Leicester would need a 6-0 over Spurs.

Leicester getting six goals, without reply, seems rather unlikely, even in this hectic season.

If Leicester and ourselves finish level in points AND goal difference, we finish higher due to our head-to-head record. Our 3-0 win is better than their 3-1 Victor over us.

Win our game against Palace and the chance that the rest takes care if itself is very high.

I think it go to goals scored on goal difference, then to head to head if goal difference and goals scored are the same, Leicester would need to win 5-0 if we win 1-0

Anyway, fuck Leicester, we just need to take care of our business convincingly, they'll be out for revenge after we beat them 7-0 earlier this season, but, looking at our highlights against them and the Arsenal highlights tonight, the way we set up and opened them up, through how they defend when the ball is in certain areas hasn't changed, the reason they conceded 3 goals against Arsenal tonight are the exact same reasons they conceded 7 against us

Palace are shite mate. If we don’t get the result it’s because we properly fail to turn up, nothing to do with their quality. I thought while messy at times we kept the clear cut chances minimal tonight. The early Chris wood chance was a great chance and the header from the corner. Other than that Burnley were piss poor. So were we particularly in midfield but we seem to have found a knack of scoring.

They're far from shite, but the reasons they conceded 7 against us earlier this season and the reasons they conceded 3 v Arsenal tonight are exactly the same, so despite conceding 7 against us earlier in the season, they still defend certain situations the same way, leaving themselves highly vulnerable to balls played to feet from deeper wide areas to central players between their CBs, to balls played through their defence towards the far post on the opposite side from where play has been built up and to switches.

I watched our highlights against them and the highlights of their game tonight after our bumming of Burnley, they're still conceding goals in the same way for the same reasons as when we put 7 past them

I really liked tonight's game, not so much the dropping off letting them put lots of crosses into our box, although with Phillips and Williams in there, I am always pretty confident they'll get it clear, because they've both been pretty good at that and they did incredibly well defending such a barrage of crosses and corners into our box tonight from a Burnley side who specialise in scoring goals that way.

The main highlight for me, as it's something I've talked a lot about, was Jurgen moving Mane out to LFWD and/or having him make inside out runs to that area to link with Robbo, and suddenly it being like watching Mane and Robbo of the last 3 seasons again, Mane releasing Robbo to set up Bobby for our opener, then Robbo releasing Mane to set up Phillips

That pair were such a huge part of how we got breakthrough goals and a lot of our goals in the last 3 seasons, it was just brilliant to see it again after so long of it not being part of our play at all, with Mane's position tweaked and him not making inside out runs from his new position to be there to link with Robbo and the pair looking to release each other down the line, through the channel or to connect a run through the channel with a ball angled into that area from outside the full back all suddenly back, and our scoring 2 goals from it was simply a joy to behold

I was absolutely made up Phillips scored, he absolutely has his limitations, but he knows his limitations and keeps things simple and does the things he's good at incredibly well and the job he has done so far, in leading and organising as well, in a patched up team having to play differently, without any continuity of selection all season, all things considered, has just been excellent, to the extent he was sorely missed in his absence for the Leeds and Newcastle games.

I wish Burnley would fuck off down to the Championship. They are horrible to watch and their fans love a long ball. They're the Big Sams Bolton of the 00's.
