    I get the sentiment but the rules state reckless and dangerous play warrants a red card. Can’t see what the ref can do there

    Yep, it’s the endangering an opponent part of the rule that makes those types of plays red. Getting the ball first means nothing if studs meet player now. If that was one of our players we’d all scream red.

    Yep it’s about minimising those career ending or potentially life changing injuries.

    It is a game of football and there is a line between commitment and over commitment to the point where you don’t care about the consequences to the opponent.
