Megan Campbell's arrival at Liverpool FC Women not only brings an added threat down the left flank, but also offers Matt Beard's team a special attacking weapon.
The Republic of Ireland international, whose signing was confirmed today, possesses a long throw that is sure to be utilised by the Reds in the FA Women's Championship this season.
The left-back, who turns 28 on Monday, arrives with a wealth of experience - and she can't wait to get started in her new surroundings.
Read on as Campbell speaks to Liverpoolfc.com for the first time after joining the club from Manchester City...

On a new challenge with Liverpool FC Women…
I'm really excited. It's obviously one of the biggest clubs and the name speaks for itself, so I'm really looking forward to the challenge ahead.
On her style of play…
I like to play the ball to feet and get up and down the channels. I can also play centre-half as well if needed. So I'll play anywhere if it means I can get on the grass and can help the team. Probably a lot of people will know me for a long throw that I have, so that's one of the things I like to specialise in. I like to get on the ball and get into the attack and I like to be a hard defender. Us Irish people, we are known for being physical and quite tough, so I love a tackle!

On how she came to develop a long throw…
I guess as a kid it was always there and it just grew as I got older. Then we decided to start using it with the national team and it was a great asset for us to have in terms of getting assists or more chances on goal, like corners. I guess it just became a popular thing and if we needed a goal towards the end of the match it became very important. So it's been quite good for me! I've never trained for it or done anything specifically, it's just something I've always had which I'm very grateful for.
On her successful spell at Manchester City…
I played and trained with a lot of successful players and different cultures, big medal winners, World Cup winners, European winners. So I've been around it and seen what it takes to get to the top and stay there. This is a new challenge for me and I'm really looking forward to coming here and hopefully helping the team get promoted this season and get back to where this club belongs.

On the challenge of promotion back to the Women's Super League…
I know the girls, from seeing a few interviews and stuff, were quite disappointed not getting promoted last year, and I know they will have fire in their bellies and are ready to push on now. Obviously Matt has come in as well and he's very experienced. He's been here before, won two titles and he knows what it takes as well. I'm really looking forward to getting in and around the group and pushing on now.
On working under the management of Beard…
Matt has been great for me and when he contacted me and said he wanted to bring me here, that was brilliant for me - hearing a manager wanted me so badly. So when I got the opportunity, I was never going to turn it down. I'm really looking forward to this challenge. The manager has put his trust and faith in me. I know I've had injuries in the past but I'm just looking forward to getting back on the grass and working hard for him. So, fingers crossed it goes well.
On reuniting with former Manchester City winger Melissa Lawley at Liverpool…
She's a right character and she's a bubbly one in the dressing room and on the field. I'm looking forward to seeing Mel again and catching up with her and the other girls. I know Niamh Fahey, who is my friend and also on the international team.
