Well, here we are. We can almost smell a new League season.

Pre-season isn't far from being over, with just 10 days left now until our opening fixture against a side we have scored quite a few goals against in recent years. Let's hope that trend continues, though I couldn't take a 5-4 again!

I doubt my side will be what Klopp puts out but that's never been the point of these threads. I'm erring on protecting Gomez and Van Dijk (it's a long season) to give Konate an early opportunity to lay down a marker and also preserving Thiago to ensure he starts the season without this niggle (Klopp isn't worried - says full training next week) hence not picking the usual suspects - if we can win heaps of games with Phillips and Williams we shouldn't panic about them not being dropped straight back in.

Huge challenges lie ahead for us this season, but we were top of the League at pretty much the half-way point of 20/21 and put in 9 wins from 11 at the latter stages after our mid-season collapse. Let's aim for 3 points in our opening match and see where we can go.

Have to get him some games though - either with a view to getting him into a rhythm and it finally "working" for us or with a view to reminding other clubs he exists should we need to sell at the end of the season.

Not seen any preseason games so just an effort at an 11.
Probably wont see a 4231 but I do think it suits our squad best.
Would be nice to see Virgil back in the 11 from day one.
