IF we are going to get a player/s from abroad we dont have 10 days or how ever long it is.The deals need to be done sooner than that.. because of some form legal forms that need sorting. Not exactly sure. but something along those lines

If he’s taking Elliott’s role he’s going out on loan then?
How does that help with a player leaving the first team squad?

I like the look of Gordon he will be part of the U23 squad this season then we either see how he has progressed in a year or loan him to a championship club like we did with Harvey.

I mean in the sense that he is getting, for want of a better word, promoted. Or is one step further up the ladder to the first-team.

    - Last season Shaqiri was available, Elliott was on loan.
    - This season Elliott is available, to "replace" Shaqiri, such as it is. Though 22 appearances would surprise me (what Shaq had in 20/21) as we were down to the bare bones last season, which will (hopefully!) not be the case this season - indeed Shaq only had 11 appearances in 19/20 and I think Elliott can easily take those on.
    - Gordon then goes "up" a bit - my suspicion would be appearances (not always starts) in League Cup and FA Cup rather than a loan, but whatever Klopp chooses I'll trust, as will 99.9% of Reds. Though I'd personally like him training with the first-team if we can.
    - If Origi leaves too then that opens more doors for appearances to be spread out - he had 17 last season - with players like Minamino, Elliott, Gordon likely to want minutes, with Gordon (probably) bottom of that pile.

Its a fucking joke if that club let 3 players go one of which was a first team mainstay to bring in one backup defender. I will be fuming if that ends up the case.
It will tell us everything we already know about the owners.

Still think a genuine quality forward thinking midfielder is what we’re missing.
Midfield has numbers but still lacks balance and a touch of quality.

I'm expecting a midfielder, probably end up disappointed but like you say let's see if it happens.
