“Liverpool have opened talks with 26-year-old midfielder Naby Keita over a new contract, with the Guinea international's current deal due to expire in 2023. (Calciomercato - in Italian)“

Georginio Wijnaldum is "worn out" and his move to Paris St-Germain from Liverpool in the summer was a "mistake" according to a close friend of the 30-year-old Netherlands midfielder. (L'Equipe - in French)

IF... this is true and as much as I appreciate Gini's contributions in a LFC shirt, well, it's hilarious

Took Phil a few more months for the regret to sink in

We don’t actually know for sure if the club made him an offer, do we?

    Who, Gini ?

I'd bet heavily that they offered him a contract and his agent told him there'd be better money on offer from other clubs. The money talked and Gini walked.

Could win a CL title there, more than likely win a few ligue uns, french cups and will be paid handsomely.

Looking at the age profile of the squad, it probably makes sense to renew the contract of one of Keita or Ox - at present Keita looks higher up the pecking order.

I'd personally be reluctant to renew both - hopefully keep one and one of Elliott/Jones steps up over time - or indeed an incoming transfer arrives.

Keita looks the better overall player to me but ox has a little bit of pace and a better shot. In reality we probably need better versions of both of them.

“Manchester United has revealed that broadcasting revenues helped to soften the financial hit from the pandemic.
In the 12 months to 30 June, the club made £254.8m from broadcasters, 81.7% up on the previous year's £140.2m.
However, with games being played without fans due to Covid, matchday revenues fell from £89.8m to £7.1m.
Ed Woodward said he was "more confident than ever" that the club was "on the right track" having signed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo over the summer.“
Its all spin mate the facts are they still lost over £100m in revenue.

Look at Spurs/Arsenal both took out £100m loans to cover it we are bigger than both of them but still.

Only the oil clubs can suck those losses and take a look at Barca their wild spending plus covid has ruined them they are lucky they play in La Liga as they wouldnt make CL in England with that squad
