I'm relieved that you haven't used Young Boys and bumming in the same sentence

You'd back them to escape the group, especially with Ronaldo's obsession with his Champion's League goalscoring, but Villarreal and Atalanta aren't mugs.

Atalanta are quite a bi-polar side though. When they are on it they are an absolute delight to watch but they can concede plenty too - would remind you a bit of some of our earlier performances under Klopp, before we solidified a bit. They could beat Man United 4-0 and then lose the reverse fixture 5-0.

Liverpool v AC Milan - Wed Sep 15
    Porto v Liverpool - Tues Sep 28
Atletico Madrid - Liverpool, Tues Oct 19
Liverpool v Atletico Madrid - Wed Nov 3
    Liverpool v Porto - Wed Nov 24
AC Milan v Liverpool - Tues Dec 7

I'll take that. Assuming that Atletico will be our two toughest matches, we get two chances to collect points off the (relatively) easier opponents before facing them and two chances to rescue some points should we fluff our lines a bit.

    Bit of a bastard group.

Open to KopOP but my hunch is Porto are improved over recent seasons.
Atletico are still a tough side less concerning in the groupstages imo and Milan look the toughest side from pot 4.

    Squad -

    Goalkeepers - Alisson, Adrian, Kelleher

Defenders - Van Dijk, Matip, Gomez, Konate, Phillips, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Tsimikas

Midfielders - Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago, Keita, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Elliott

Forwards - Salah, Mane, Firmino, Jota, Minamino, Origi

    Decent selection that.

2 midfielders who are always out injured it seems and 2 forwards that Klopp doesn't seem to deploy bar no other option aside, I'd agree.

Still think most of our moanings were spot on, a grunt in midfield and a forward who can play wide who Klopp would use would have been very good additions.

Would like to see Elliot get a chance up top.

Would also like to see us play 4231

    A-Team

    Alisson
    TAA Matip VVD Robbo
    Hendo Fabinho
    Fab4

^^Looks a mean side to me

    B-Team
    Kelleher/Adrian
    Neco/Gomez Gomez/Phillips Konate Tsimi
    Thiago Keita/Milner
    Elliot Ox/Taki Jones
    Div/Taki

Progression in the domestic cups should be a good measure of squad depth this year.

Totally agree CC - it’s a good side IF all remain fit and in form - but well short in crucial areas of not.
