We were in a dog fight today and rode our luck at times and also got carried by our superior quality. Alisson, Salah, Mane, Thiago, Kostas, Millie rop game from those. Van Dijk was okay, Konate struggled at times. Jota son u stank up the place. Fab not 1 of his best. Naby brilliant cameo.

Palace made a decent scrap of that, look a much better outfit already under Viera, didn't trouble us too much, but stopped us troubling them too much also, half decent press that will trouble many other sides who aren't so good in the press and therefore at dealing with it as our lads

If Gomez had been in the 1v1 where he had to bail Virgil out Palace would have scored, Konate also played 4 or 5 very fine cultured forward passes, Jota should have done better when he released him with the ball over the defender from deep, played 2 or 3 that took 3 or 4 out of the game, with the required zip into one of ours with 2 of our others in close support too
Played it safe if anything, it being his debut and all, just gave himself half a yard instead of going and winning it Virgil or Matip style as I'm accustomed to seeing him play until after our second

We looked out of sorts at different times through the match. I think we missed the double overload of Robbo and Trent and so a lot of the play went in midfield where Palace had a lot of tough players. Alisson bailed us out bigtime on two or three occasions.
But at least we converted chances. A bit surprised that some people thought Jordan MOTM. I thought he was a bit poor today. Konate did alright, not an easy first game up against Benteke and Zaha.
Both Mo and Sadio looking good. Jota had his worst game in a red shirt.
