Fabinho was a hair’s breadth from scoring remember - it was a moment of defensive brilliance that denied him

No not yet as only 7 games gone but by xmas we'll be off the pace.

With these international breaks we are not going to be able to rotate properly.

Alisson/Fabinho are likely to miss Watford game.

Mane/Tsimikas could too as they are going to red zone countries.

City/Cheksea started slowly last season but its going to be a grind again and I expect them to be above us.

11 v 11 we can give any of them a game we know that but squad wise nobody comes close in world football to their depth.

Yep the loss of Gini is already being felt. He wasn't perfect and his lack of creativity against teams that parked the bus was frustrating but he was brilliant at using his strength and technique to control possession.

I think thiago can play a similar role but he is often injured which is something that almost never happened to Wijnaldum. Hendo and Fabinho have been poor in the last 2 league games and I would consider only playing one of them when thiago is absent otherwise the ball is given away far too much.

If Fabinho plays a part in Brazil's final game in the upcoming wc qualifiers the Watford game will surely come too soon for him so Klopp will be forced to play Hendo in the no. 6 role which is what 19x has been crying out for.

Against Watford I'd like to see

    Thiago Hendo Jones

    Or if thiago isn't fit

    Milner Hendo Jones

If Fabinho is available then he plays in the number 6 role. There's a reason why he plays there every game, he was brought in to play there and Is the best at it. If he wasn't, he would get moved, or dropped.

He should have scored though no doubt. Great tackle but so slow to act - and use left foot FFS..

Klopp post match interview “ first half we were playing long passes which made no sense, one or two made sense, but not the others” who’s dictating the tactics if long balls “made no sense” you could see it changed second half, but a bit concerning it the manager feels what was put out first half made no sense

How did that even happen ? I was sure he was going to score. Was it a few mm's not over the line that cost us against City a few years ago ?
Great reading of the game from Rodri though.

Agree but to be fair City are shit hot. battered PSG and somehow lost. Very very good side that could click and win their next 20 games. The Mo Salah factor is huge though. He is playing on another level - Alisson is bailing us too and we are drawing games

In slow motion it never looks like the defender would get there. He looked a bit shocked too

Although we won 5-1 away midweek in the Champions League. Pessimism may be comforting but we are not exactly dire at the moment.

Klopp has already lost three of his preferred midfielders at this stage of the season and we look weak in midfield. I can't imagine there aren't conversations about buying a new midfielder in Jan going on behind the scenes. If they bought someone in there would be four additional midfielders coming in, which is probably more than Klopp wants to deal with. This is the balancing act that they are faced with. Jones looked like the new dawning of Christ on Wednesday and now suddenly we all wish he was replaced.
