It’s interesting to try and work out the maths of the situation. They are probably looking at raising his wages from about 10million a year to say 20 million per year. Which is about 100miliom over five years.

If someone offers them 200 million tomorrow that’s a net of 300 million they’re paying to keep him at the club. Something like that.
True but then we have to replace him as well.

It is in the clubs hands but IF we offer £350k a week and he rejects it then is it all down to the club ?

My opinion is if you are happy and enjoying your football you might have to take less for that.

All this market rate stuff is players at clubs who dont give a shit about wage controls.

Madrid will get Mbappe and maybe Haaland so it leaves PSG.

What do PSG offer other than money ? Nothing the league is worse, the fans are well demanding, Poch is a no mark compared to Klopp, He not be king whilst Messi is there....like I said he could ask Gini how he feels ?!

Also this interview was on Sky I guess we allowed and controlled it.

I’d imagine both parties have a number in mind and both will have to compromise and have good reasons for doing so.

Also, I have no idea of the details but there must be some kind of big financial positive impact of having the best player in the world and the greatest ever Arab player (and greatest Muslim?) on our books.

Yeah no fan wants to lose him I dont for sure.

I dont see him going as his options arent as big as they were especially now Barca are out the game.

Reports seem to suggest £400k a week so you are looking around £350k then.

Hypothetically, would Man City pay him £400 grand a week ?

    Yeah they would mate.

I dont like all this "its out of my hands talk" if we offered him £300k then that is untrue.

The wages now of £400-500k are mainly paid by oil clubs this is why clubs are not happy with the takeover at Newcastle.

I agree compared to others he is worth £400k a week but my stand is if you and your family are happy then £300k a week is plenty.

I am aware other industries earn big money but its laughable when fans who might earn £20-40k a year say just pay XYZ the £250k a week etc like its nothing.

Anyway enough of a socialist rant think he will stay Ian 😁

No one accepts less than their market value for themselves. Can’t blame him if others would pay him £500k. Not as if he’s a scouser playing for his hometown club.
He’s said he would love to finish his career with us that’s good enough for me, up to FSG if they want to pay him the going rate.

He’s been nothing short of brilliant on the pitch and off it.
