It's the filthy, not a top European side, they haven't had a set way of playing with a defined best 11 or an organsied press in all the time Ole has been there, they have some dangerous players, but if we play the 4312 with the deeper line and the press where we set it in last seasons 4-2 drubbing of them at old toilet, but with a much better 11 as it will be, I fully expect our lads to administer them a considerably harsher bumming than Leicester did

So that’s at least one penalty they’re guaranteed to get. We need to be very careful in and around our box. They have got some decent set piece players.

    Just thinking back.

We had the 2-4 against them in 20/21.
    The 0-3 in 13/14.
    The 1-4 in 08/09.

But then you start having to go back a fair bit - we'd a result there in.....not sure if it was 02/03 or 01/02.....then before that we had the.....2000?

The 90s was dire for results there wasn't it? As the 2000 one ended a bad run there - may well have been for ten or eleven years.

It would be bloody excellent to get a result there for a second season in a row, having got one last year. Last season's was all the sweeter due to them resting players against Leicester in the hope of screwing us over.

So, wanting a shit manager to stay at one of our biggest rivals and preventing them improving is "cheering MU"?
    Thanks for that.

I know what you meant, I'm sure most of the others did too.

2001 ( Murphy free kick)was our first win there in ten years. We won there in 02 and 03 I think? Murphy scored the winner in all 3. 02 was a late win with a class little dink over the keeper and 03 was a penalty in a very, very rare 3pm Saturday kick off that wasn't televised.

Did we win there last year? I thought it was a draw?

    We bummed them 4-2

For me this is how we set up last season, players in positions to do them damage and stop them playing as they attempt to, lower line, players in the right areas

    Alisson

    Matip_______Van Dijk

    Trent_____Fabinho_____Robertson

    Henderson____Firmino____Milner

    ______Salah_____________Mane

It was forced on us because of our CB issue, but it actually worked far better against them and how they want to 'try' and play than our usual very high press and was our best performance and result against them under Jurgen. It's how we should set up v Atletico for the game at Anfield too, as it stops the 5v3 overloads they work on in midfield when we're set like that, because we have 6 players there effectively
