Minamino had been on loan to Southampton. Minamino's return essentially "took" Gini's spot.

Konate was then added on as well.

I also think we had a technicality on the homegrown players as only 3 of them were "club homegrown" which I think was a technical detail laid out in an....August(?)....newspaper article online. I'll see if I can find that at some stage.

I'm assuming Karius isn't registered. Otherwise we'd have nearly 1/5 of our squad registered as keepers!
I get that (technically) we could do that, but spending multiple tens of thousands of pounds per week on a player to not play (even if only for a few months) is a very bad look, particularly in a city that has had social issues with unemployment, child poverty etc - they would be insane to sanction that.

Karius is definitely registered in at least one of our squads, though I can't remember (off the top of my head) if it's the League squad until January, the Champion's League squad, or both.

I forget if he was considered "homegrown" on account of his previous Premier League experience.

Yeah that is right mate when Shaqiri left late in the window one spot opened up.

We could obviously not register some players but we not do that as for example Origi and Minamino are worth £10-15m each.

Karius isnt registered but we know we not get a fee for him we will hope his wages are off the books in Jan which is possible as he will need to think about his future he may get an 18 month deal somewhere

Man City (not that I'd want him back) aren't going to sell us Sterling for example.

Which leaves us needing to move a player or two on, which is all very well if clubs are willing to buy them - which they weren't. Genuine offers for lads like Origi didn't really materialise.

Karius will depart soon which will free up a slot, which hopefully gives us a little wiggle-room.
We can loan a couple, Minamino for a start to get the Monaco lad in for midfield, it is fucking well overdue that we stop pissing around not getting these lads from Monaco when they make their first big move and then spend seasons chasing them still, just make the player and Monaco a horses head in the bed offer, we'll be offering him first team football for a start and not a bit part role like Chelsea or City would be and we have Jurgen

The second critical mass is reached and the club's value is at the accepted peak - it will be sold off to WHOEVER pays the highest price. In the meantime, they can cream in revenues in other areas by association with the huge brand of Liverpool FC. Win WIn.

The fact that so many Liverpool fans don't see it this way has no bearing on the reality.

Insidious i may have been harsh on you and i dont mean it to be that way. I can understand your positivity on things. Just i think that FSG are being complete shits with how they are running the transfers part of the buisness.
Its fine bringing the kids through. But they have to be good enough in the end.we need real quality transfers to compete.
