Just watching the game for the first time and incredibly talented footballer though Thiago is, today showed again why his game is not really suited to the Premier League.

after a couple of errors at the start of the game. I thought Thiago got much better after that

Gave the ball away 3 times in dangerous positions in the first half. A better team would have punished us.

It didn’t strike me as bad enough to affect the game to be honest.

It was a strange game; we scored four and created plenty of chances, but I thought we were decidedly average. I suppose that just shows how high our standards are. I thought Trent and Mané were the worst players on the pitch; Thiago was only slightly behind them in that respect.

3 points, clean sheet, no injuries and the GD improved. I guess I’m hard to please

    Thanks for that southern.

A strange thing is the manner of our League wins at the moment. We've has 8 of them so far and the aggregate score is, believe it or not, 29-0.

Hopefully more clean sheets to compliment our ruthless goalscoring. When we do win (in the League) we are pretty emphatic about it.

I agree though SB, just from watching on tv, we weren’t great. No consistent football played and very careless in possession. Southampton were just poor.

Yes this was robbo best game in a long while.
His runs, passing, interplay and importantly, crosses were all good.
While he won't get to attack as much vs better teams, the quality shown in his play needs to be at this standard.

Totally agree that Robertson had his best game in a very long time. He doesn’t strike me as a kind of player to need motivation, but some decent competition can’t do any harm. The fact that he’s had a bit of a rest can’t do any harm either; the guys played a hell of a lot of football over the last few years in a very demanding position.

Personally I thought we were outstanding, in a we've 3 more gears here if we need it.
Jurgen has built a machine that takes some stopping especially at home.
As for the wind sid, it was very calm in the ground it hardly picked up at all but bloody freezing !!
