Depends on the player I guess. There are some who are there for the money - which, if you're materialistic or want to set up an extended family unit's future for life, is understandable.

There's also a type of player (not as many about) who genuinely fancy a challenge and the idea of being a central figure in the turning around of a club's misfortunes might appeal.

Then of course those who are worried about competition for places, rather than backing their ability to be better than the man in their position. If you go to a squad with less talent/work ethic overall then your chances of getting match time are decent, whereas a player joining Liverpool had to be pretty damn good to be a first-team regular starter.

Liverpool are not planning to sell Divock Origi in January despite approaches from Serie A and Bundesliga clubs. No negotiation for Luís Diaz with FC Porto - Origi will be needed and Klopp asked him to stay until June, as things stand

This guy is normally right, imagine signing someone eh, good joke lol.

When is Harvey Elliott back? He’ll be like a new signing.

Can't give you a date, but I still think mid-February for being re-integrated in with a view to being ready for regular starts by the time the Champion's League quarter-finals come around "feels right" - he has a long career ahead of him, so little point rushing it.

In other news - James Milner is expected to leave #Liverpool at the end of season and continue his playing career elsewhere.

Makes sense really, bitter a pill as it is to swallow. He isn't the future, as time waits for nobody.

I do hope he comes back to us in the future in a coaching capacity. Adore the man - has been the ultimate professional, including playing at left-back for most of a season to help us towards regular Champion's League football with no complaints.

Meant to be on about £150,000k per week, so it would create a little wiggle-room for the likes of Salah's contract or another signing.

Looks like Lorenzo Insigne is one such player doing it for the money. He has signed a four year deal to move to the mighty Toronto FC for US $15 million per season in the summer

That's such a waste of talent for me.

Giovinco was the same - not Insigne's level, but left European far too soon - think it must be 6 or 7 years or so ago now (?) and I think he's still "only" 34.
