diaz is another piece in the evolution of the fwd line, fsg arent gonna offer 3yr high salary contracts to mane, firmino and salah at their ages. i think salah will get close to what he's asking but reckon firmino will go in summer and possibly mane too. leaving diaz, jota, salah, gordon and hopefully a n other incoming. most of the old/older guard moving on plus the sicknotes and fringe players who havent maybe done enough.

    Agree with this post overall.

In terms of the specifics of the "breaking up" of the front three, I think it will look like this -

    - Salah gets his contract and stays
    - Mane OR Firmino leaves this Summer for whatever bid we deem acceptable.
    - The remaining player of the Mane/Firmino sees out their contract to ease the transitional phase of the changing of the guard, but there's no renewal offered and they leave on a free with our best wishes.
    - Summer at the end of 21/22 or end of 22/23 we recruit another player - the third forward in the sequence of Jota/Diaz/????
    - At least one of the 5th/6th spots (3 forwards, back-up for each, equates to 6) is a youth transfer/academy product (Gordon? Musialowski?) with the aim being two, but if we don't have two to the suitable standard, we dip into the transfer market for a relatively inexpensive target (more Minamino money than Jota money) to ensure high standards overall.

Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele has agreed terms with Paris St-Germain and could move on Monday's transfer deadline day if the two clubs can agree a fee, reports Guillem Balague.

The Spanish club want 20m euros (£16.6m) for the 24-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer.

Barca paid an initial £96.8m for Dembele in 2017 but have asked him to take a pay cut or leave.

Manchester United and Chelsea also showed interest in a deal.

But the Premier League clubs are not expected to be able to challenge PSG for the France forward's signature because of financial fair play restrictions, which would leave them needing to offload players before adding Dembele's wages to their books.

If Dembele does move to Paris before Monday's 23:00 GMT deadline, he will join former Barca team-mate Lionel Messi in the French capital, while also teaming up with international colleague Kylian Mbappe and Brazil star Neymar.

Barcelona are keen to offload Dembele in order to sign either Spain and Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, with whom they have a deal agreed, or Arsenal's Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

And there is also a possibility Dembele will move to PSG in a swap deal with Argentina striker Mauro Icardi.

Doubt they can afford Aubameyang - loan deal to reduce Arsenal's wage bill for a bit?

Would also be amazed if Atletico allowed Barcelona to have Morata at all - even on loan.

Intriguing links should they come off!

Supposedly Deal for Auba is hinging on % of his wages they would be expected to pay
SKY Sports just confirmed this saying the deal is almost complete

    Exactly my thoughts

People are kidding themselves if they think we'll have salah jota mane firmino and diaz next season, I wish we could be like man city but obviously not.

Carvalho from fulham will take Minimainos place / origis and obviously Elliot too.

It's not a bad thing been saying for a while we need to freshen things up, and this is the start.

FSG will make the money back from somewhere, simply that's how we work, if reports are to believe we've only signed him in january when we would rather wait to summer because of Spurs and portos money problems.

It's a good signing, but we will be losing someone.

Does anyone know why the transfer deadline is different across Europe :

    Germany closes 17.00
    Italy closes 19.00
Spain France and UK closes 23.00

Didn't you say people were kidding themselves if they thought we'd be signing anyone this transfer window?
