Thing is, ourselves, Man City and Chelsea are still ahead of them in terms of the current "cycle" or whatever and Arsenal, along with Tottenham, seem to be getting closer to finding something as well.

With their budget (looking at some of the wages their lads are on is wild) they should get it right eventually, but they're increasingly becoming a less desirable location. If they reach a stage where the job becomes too poisoned a Chalice then Managers won't want to go there for fear of losing their reputation and they'll attract the mercenary players more than those who see them as a club to develop with.

They can absolutely recover their situation, especially given their financial might - but they could do with doing it within the next 2-5 seasons, otherwise it starts to get harder - especially if Newcastle enter the mix of clubs challenging for Champion's League football.

They could well end up like us after the 90s. Less likely with their money but it if they end up too far back they wont be able to compete with City or Chelsea (unless their owners pull out).

Its like us to an extent.. the longer the wait went on the harder it became compete. the constant underachieving was like a huge weight around the clubs neck. Its gotten to the point a draw is no good now. man-city win so many games, Its impossible for everyone else.

Something I had typed years ago that came up in my Facebook memories today that I feel is a bit of a waste not to share. For the record I don't massively subscribe to Deja Vu or anything like that, but we can still find intrigue in coincidences such as these -

"In 1988 Liverpool won the title by 9 points.
In 1989 Liverpool lost the title on goal difference courtesy of a last minute goal by their nearest challengers.
In 1990 Liverpool strolled to yet another league title.
In 1991 Liverpool employed a Scottish manager to replace their previous, highly successful, Scottish manager.

Liverpool have now gone over 23 years since winning a title.

In 2011 United won the title by 9 points.
In 2012 United lost the title on goal difference courtesy of a last minute goal by their nearest challengers.
In 2013 United strolled to yet another league title.
In 2013 United employed a Scottish manager to replace their previous, highly successful, Scottish manager.

    To be continued....."

Up to 11 players are keen to leave Manchester United, having grown disillusioned with life at Old Trafford and rumours of a dressing-room crisis. (Mirror)

Would anyone, if the above is true take a punt on Rashford, Greenwood or Bruno, good chance one of the three could be in the 11, would like to see Mr. Klopp working on the first two.
