    Well, half a job done.

    H/T Southampton 1-0 City

As expected loads of City possession, attack after attack but Southampton defended manfully in the first Half, allowing City just effort on target when Stirling should have equalised.
Southampton have had a couple of decent breaks though, including a goal ruled out for a narrow offside.
Fully expect more of the same in the second half and unless Southampton look after the ball better in midfield when they have it, the inevitable will happen.

Great break by Southampton and last ditch defending thwarts the dangerous Broja.
Broja then heads against the post from close range from the resulting corner, should be 2-0.

On the hour a poor Raheem Sterling is replaced by Gabriel Jesus.
Game opened up a bit in the last few minutes but Southampton have no choice but to try and get a second from a break, they can’t defend the edge of their box for another half an hour, particularly as they tire.
Really good effort from the Saints thus far.

How frustrating, after all that good play, City equalise with a free header from a free kick.
    1-1 66 mins gone.
The inevitable will unfortunately now happen…

Yes it will - 100% without any doubt. In fact it has as good as happened already.
